Ginbey/Lalor incident

Lol, this MRO office is special.

Practice match, Ginbey shoves Lalor into a marking contest at top speed without ever looking like contesting the ball himself. Lalor gets a broken jaw and concussion.

MRO says no case to answer.

Wind forward to rd 22, same season. Rules haven't changed. Dylan Shiel does the exact same thing though nobody is hurt, although his team-mate was placed in a pretty precarious position by the incident, fortunately no significant injury.

MRO says off to the Tribunal you go Dylan Shiel.

Now talk us through the Ginbey one again Christian & whoever the stupid campaigner is who is in charge of that stupid campaigner.

Wtf is going on with these idiots? Same people judging it, same rules, almost identical action, certainly in every material detail . The one with the much worse outcome in terms of injury gets no case to answer. The one that caused no injury gets referred directly to the Tribunal. Funking clown show cubed.
It’s not really an identical incident, Shiel really had no idea Lual was coming into the contest. Lual hadn’t even left the ground by the time Shiel had finished pushing him. Straight up just a push in the back.

The rules absolutely did change. I know you're annoyed because your player got injured, but you lot spent the next month crying so they changed the rules.

This has gone to the tribunal because the action injured his own teammate so doesnt fit the guidelines, despite the action itself now being a reportable offense
Yeah Richmond fans got exactly what they wanted in changing the rules to help stamp “attempted murder” out of the game.

Not sure why they’re still sooking it up.

The action was always a reportable offence. Laura Kane sending a memo to clubs half way through the season to remind them of this did not change the rules.

You are only supporting my point. The incident with less guilt attached and a better outcome in terms of injury gets treated as if it is worse than the incident with the worse action and much worse injury outcome - by the exact same people judging the incident under the exact same rules.
