Second most disposals on the ground with 9. Every time he touches it something happens.
I’m at the game, he has an opponent at the stoppage then they run in different directions. As good as he is 1.7 doesn’t get you a great defensive player from what I’ve seen. Cost them a goal in the first because he didn’t want to run into the pocket to fill up the space. Just stood there and watched.

He's never really been a full on defensive player. He's more a roam and just cover the entire ground floating, intercepting, and running with the play. So a mixture of half back flanker and midfield.. Realistically I see him more of a wing player that goes in the guts for ball ups. The more freedom he has the better he is.

I hope that Butters re-signs over the off season (personal preference) or is traded this year.
avoid the emotional roller coaster that Saints fans are on at the moment.
In saying that, Butters will push for the best deal for him. So my opinion really doesn’t matter.

The game Port played 2 rucks in sweet and soldo and soldo did sweet F all. Also when Essendon actually had a healthy squad at that time. Port were only missing Butters realistically.. BZT and Marshall out but that's it really. Boys just dropped off in the last half and lost it.
That was round 3. Just have a look at that team that played that day.
Essendon was pretty close to full strength, whilst Port played Berry, Cochrane, Moraes in the same team - they had 4 games between them at that time. Plus Sweet and Soldo. No BZT or Butters and it was Ratugolea’s first game for the season.
It was also bloody hot and humid under the roof.
To be fair we played them when they were actually half decent. Round 3 in Melbourne.
They had Merrett, Martin, Draper, Ridley, Caldwell, Shiel, Reid, Caddy and McKay playing then.
This team is utterly disgusting that is beating Saints and missing arguably their 6 best players and 8 of their best 12 or so.
