If he ends up going to the Crows, the Ken Hinkley farewell tour will go down as possibly the worst sliding doors moment in our AFL history.
What an unbelievably stupid decision from an unbelievably stupid club.
This year has told you everything about Koch anyone needs to know simply is not fit for the job

Do you have anything original to say ?
if you don't like what a poster posts, skip over it or block them, you choose to respond and make it personal.

I don't agree with lots of things posted in here so I simply scroll past, it's better than attacking the person.

I've been getting along just fine in here since 2012 not 2023.

It's just an internet forum, people have opinions, it's not a crime

Do I want NAS of course I do
BUT it can't cost us 1 of our 26 or 27 FS or NGA.
1 player will make a difference.
But 2 possibly no1 picks plus maybe another 2 1st rounder changes us massively
Wouldn't want to lose one of our FS / NGA's who could potentially turn into a star for a 22 year that is already a superstar. Great logic.
Same logic goes for people not wanting to trade Berry or Whitlock, as they potentially could turn into a really good player. Wouldn't want to get in a superstar at this risk of losing someone who may become half the player NWM is.
We aren't trading in a 27 year old superstar, NWM is 22, top 10 player in the game already, and has 10+ years left in his career, who isn't even close to his peak yet.

This decision has always been loyalty v success v mates. They're all legitimate considerations and nobody could blame him for picking one over the other.

But people are delusional if they think our alarming descent into non competitiveness in the back half of the season wouldn't be playing on his mind. Even if he really wants to play with his mates, he'd have to be absolutely stupid to not be very concerned with Port's short to medium term prospects.

He’s no more a guarantee of success at Adelaide than us, the last two years they’ve been down the bottom end of the ladder whilst we’ve been up to top.

Success is never guaranteed but if you had to make a neutral assessment of where success is more likely then it would be Adelaide. Their key players are all hitting their primes and have the form to prove they are capable. We could easily bounce back up the ladder but we could just as easily end up in the limbo of perpetual 6-12th finishes.

I mean I think its possible he could not come to us for a bunch of reasons, and the succession plan being such a failure certainly doesn't help things...

But the idea of putting any stock whatsoever in to what Theodorus Dropkick, Jon Ralph or that random Fox Footy journo said is hilarious. They're just making shit up. Why would Nas, after all this time silent, suddenly let it leak that he's "leaning towards the crows"? It makes no sense whatsoever. The only leak that is worth listening to is when you hear "he's chosen X club". Once you hear that and a reputable journo actually put their neck out then it might be worth taking seriously.

What the journos have said may very well be correct in that he has told team mates he's leaning towards the Crows.

From my perspective, I have two questions that will likely remain unanswered. Assuming their information is correct:

1) when exactly did he tell this to him team mates? Was it last week? Last month? 3 months ago? Timing matters in the context of events.

2) Ben Williams has been very deliberate in the way he has handled negotiations with all 3 teams, in addition to how he has played the media. Everything has been by design and by choice. Looking at what NWM has said to his teammates through this lens, would it be at all a surprise if Williams told him to get that info out to them? If he wants to go to Port it will drive his price up. If he doesn't, then it literally serves no purpose, and given how they've handled themselves, that doesn't make any sense.

We are an unknown quantity ATM, a new coach and a healthy list, who knows.

The last time the Crows were as good as this, with an unstoppable three tall forward line, backed up by the best small forward in the game... they lost the Grand Final to a side they beat by 10 goals during the home and away season.

Then disappeared from relevance for 7 years. Longer than it took Port to recover to a finals appearance after the record breaking 2007 Grand Final.

If I was a cynical person, I would think that Fox Footy would create the Nas to Adelaide narrative so they could name a heap of high-profile crows that could be traded right on the eve of finals to send crows' fans into a frenzy that they were trying to disrupt their finals campaign and read all of their content. Luckily I'm not that cynical ;)

Can only hope that Burgo has made friends with a kooky wellness guru that has some fresh ideas for their next off-season bonding session.

If you read my entire post I did postulate a theory as to why he would say that.
Yeah I did read the theory, but I just can't see it happening. At the end of the day the players at St Kilda are his mates. I don't see a player being that money driven they would ever want it to get out to them that they were gonna leave unless they were actually gonna leave.

Well what he was alleged to say to his team mates was that he was considering leaving, which we have known for months.

I'm sure teammates have been asking him where things stand without going into too much detail. And if he's asked, it's not like he is going to say "na I'm definitely staying don't worry about it."

So that he's told them he's considering leaving is merely par for the course.

The bigger question is why he supposedly told them if he were to leave it would be to Adelaide.
