Big dog on twitter.Where the hell are you getting the information that he "refused" to play?
Because it’s complete rubbish. There was a rumor that he pulled out of the VFL game because he was angry about Bobby's non inclusion in the team for the Crows game. Why is that not a relevant piece of info to discuss or question on a footy forum designed for opinions and discussion? People post rumors all the time. It does seem strange that he didn't play when he is fit. If true it is another spot fire and these are the last thing a club wants on the eve of a finals campaign after five losses in six games.
None of your business.
Is it impossible that he woke up on game day crook? Wouldn't have thought that would be strange.Strange the club named him to play then isn't it

The AFL have confirmed they are investigating Rankine for a homophobic slur.People post journos rumors regularly. Dwayne Russell reported that Degoey had reinjured himself last week and probably wouldn't play against the Crows. He was wrong. We moved on. As long as the poster says this is a rumor and gives a source what is the problem?
Right now, Rankine is the subject of rumour and an accusation from an unnamed source. People have been happy to discuss that. We don't know whether Rankine used a homophobic slur-it's all conjecture. Why is that one- which is far more damaging to Rankine's reputation apparently okay but the AJ one is not?

Why are you obsessed with this? Obviously there’s issues off field. The club are stuck between a rock and hard place. They can’t report on it.Strange the club named him to play then isn't it
And - hopefully NOT delist discussionsI can’t see him being selected either, but his VFL form since his return must at least have him in the selection discussion.
If you say so Kap. I didn't say why he didn't play. Just posed a possible explanation.Strange the club named him to play then isn't it
He's referring to Ash now in the selection & not playing. Why are you obsessed with this? Obviously there’s issues off field. The club are stuck between a rock and hard place. They can’t report on it.
Send an email to the club perhaps?
Or just accept he’s not playing.
With Howe back this week we are one of the better placed teams injury wise with only Bobby out. Can’t really complain
If you say so Kap.
It does happen when players are named and withdrawn late though doesn't it? If you find that strange, so be it.
It was carefully selected and edited to be published on social media, so it's got to be legit.Where the hell are you getting the information that he "refused" to play?

What argument was ruined? When did I say you were obsessed. What narrative? No, it's not strange.
Players are late withdrawals without being injured all the time... right? And no explanation from the club... I guess you don't find that strange because... it suits your narrative.
And because I've ruined your argument you're now gonna change topic and say I'm obsessed. Maybe it's not a big deal, maybe it is. It's certainly worth mentioning, if you find that strange, so be it.
If Hill was available, I'd drop Lipinski in a heartbeat. Unfortunately that doesn't seem likely.Sure, let’s drop the games best I50 kick
It is still an unconfirmed rumour. The AFL confirmed that they are investigating. Until Rankine speaks we don't know. But everyone is happy to jump in on that. Just because the media are ramming it down our throats doesn't make it any truer. Look at the endless rubbish published about Degoey. They get it wrong all the time. Why is that any different? The AFL have confirmed they are investigating Rankine for a homophobic slur.
Adelaide star Izak Rankine is under AFL investigation for allegedly using a homophobic slur during the game against Collingwood on Saturday night.
The AFL confirmed on Monday that its integrity unit is looking into the alleged on-field incident.
“The AFL is aware of an alleged matter with the Integrity Unit making enquiries,” a league spokesperson said.
Hardly the same as randoms posting a rumour on a Facebook post![]()
I'd drop Lippa, play Allan on the wing, and Sidey back in the guts.If Hill was available, I'd drop Lipinski in a heartbeat. Unfortunately that doesn't seem likely.
Lipa is a great kick but he's a huge liability when it comes to applying pressure and winning the ball back from the opposition. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. When it comes to team-wide defensive pressure, that's him.
We saw a similar drop in Lipa's efforts/effectiveness late in 2023. He only just hung onto his place in that side, scraping in as sub for the GF. I'll be surprised if the same will be tolerated a second time around.
When he is struggling, he looks terrible. He looks slow and he looks soft. That may be unfair but that's the impression I get. At his best he is all class and his disposal is elite, but you have to win the ball before you can use it.If Hill was available, I'd drop Lipinski in a heartbeat. Unfortunately that doesn't seem likely.

Geez, I merely suggested the AFL making a statement has more credence than a random posting a rumour on facebook. It is still an unconfirmed rumour. The AFL confirmed that they are investigating. The media suggesting Collingwood players are disgruntled over contract negotiations. Where is the confirmation that this is true? That's been another well discussed rumor. Do you place journalists on a higher level of integrity than the average punter? Now that is hilarious.

I’d imagine the playing group will continue to support Bobby and would love to have him back.Im not sure the playing group would give Hill a free pass.
Players like DeGoey have worked their arse off all season to get back into the team. There are VFL players working hard to get into the finals side. Is it ok for Hill to miss multiple training sessions, withdraw from games and decide when he is ready.
I just cant see Fly and the players accepting his availability without a solid commitment to training and time at the club.
We can speculate the reasons why he is not playing but we know he is not at training every session. This is not good with finals coming up.
It must be so frustrating for Fly and the playing group.
You cant make a case today for Hill into the team and tell Steele or Macrae they missed out.
When was Hills last full game or a solid block of training sessions?
Team is bigger than the individual.
Its going to be very interesting if Rankine comes out and flat-out denies saying it. Unless there are other players who heard it and are willing to say so, or it was picked up by broadcast microphones, it quickly collapses down into our player's word against his. What happens then? Wouldn't the presumption of innocence until proven (or admitted) guilt see him get off?It is still an unconfirmed rumour. The AFL confirmed that they are investigating.
