Player Watch Izak Rankine Part II

Do you think the 4 week suspension handed to Rankine is reasonable?

  • Yes

  • No - too harsh

  • No - not harsh enough

Surely Snoops lyrics from two decades ago are more akin to Rankine writing something in an essay in high school?
I dunno maybe ask Cyril Rioli?

If you have no luck there you could try Carl Peterson or Jermaine Miller-Lewis I guess?

come on man. the model well publicized by the gay community calls for an educated stance. So councelling on the use of the word can be in this case, helping Rankine find ways to negate his anger, understand how its hurtful to the community etc.
I think Izak was angry at a hell of a lot of other things said and done to him by Collingwood players on the field last Saturday night rather than Quaynor and his potential sexual preferences!

I think Quaynor and him had been at each others throats all night long. Quaynor was merely the outlet for the other crap that Izak was subjected to on the night.

Despite not personally knowing him, I do not believe for one minute that Izak is homophobic and IMHO his remorse is purely genuine in nature and has nothing to do with attempting to get off his suspension.

Just when I was getting confident we can cover him. Yikes.
He would be clear leader in some categories too.
Score involvements, I think it was more than a quarter of our scores he's involved in.

The other thing is there's flow ons. Other teams will now turn all the strong attention to stopping Dawson.

I agree. By all reports Houston is a dick of a person thats for sure. Qauynor keps pushing Rankine into the ground after tackles. So he was being a real hero.

Starting to wonder if Rankine is bisexual or something, and the AFL is trying to work out how to retreat without outing him...

Just so inexplicable, there HAS to be more to this than the public knows.
I did think there were only 2 ways out of this

1. He was racially vilified 1st
2. He chose this week to come out

I’m glad the worst commentator in the business has now had her say.

The only thing that article is good for is to line the bottom of the bird cage and pad her media portfolio. Why do we think so many media buffoons are writing why he should cop the 5 weeks instead of supporting the AFC in their opinion articles.

I'm aware other people are probably also in-the-know and I don't want to debate the crime or the punishment in any way... But I think it needs to be said that Quaynor, Moore, and the Collingwood Football Club did not dob this in/escalate it. Blaming any of the aforementioned people is completely inappropriate. If anything they acted in the AFC and Rankine's best interests early in the process. Direct your anger elsewhere, they don't deserve it.
