Who says he will be traded?
He wont be playing VFLWill Marshall be happy playing VFĹ.
Saints just booted him down the ruck pecking order did they not?
Cats have offered 6 yrs at $850 to $900k per year… why would he stay?Who says he will be traded?
We have been playing 2 rucks all yearWill Marshall be happy playing VFĹ.

Because he's contracted? It doesnt matter what Geelong offer if Ross and SOS say no.Cats have offered 6 yrs at $850 to $900k per year… why would he stay?
In theory the chance of a player wanting to go to a specific different club is 1 in 18. The chance of another player also wanting to go the other way is theoretically 1 in 18. So the chance of both happening is 1 in 324 or 0.30% of trades. How many player for player trades happen these days?
Now, how many of those limited trades are promising young player for aging player trades?
Collard won't be traded for a 30yr old small forwardRelevance to this discussion?
We are comparing Ryan and Collards value aren't we?

He is still contracted for two more years so it’s not entirely his choice is itCats have offered 6 yrs at $850 to $900k per year… why would he stay?
Holding him to his contract while you pay a squillion for someone to come in and take over his role will end well.He is still contracted for two more years so it’s not entirely his choice is it
So it's incredibly rare. I wouldn't get your hopes up on it happening. In theory the chance of a player wanting to go to a specific different club is 1 in 18. The chance of another player also wanting to go the other way is theoretically 1 in 18. So the chance of both happening is 1 in 324 or 0.30% of trades.
A recent example would be the Duursma/Zerk-Thatcher trade.
The Chad Wingard trade sent a promising young Ryan Burton the other way.
We’ve done direct a player swap with no picks involved because we’re not dickheads at the trade table.
There are plenty of examples, if you request one of our contracted players to suit your list needs, expect us to do the same.
A 30yr old small forward isn't that high on anyone's list needs. In theory the chance of a player wanting to go to a specific different club is 1 in 18. It's a good problem to haveHolding him to his contract while you pay a squillion for someone to come in and take over his role will end well.
He’s 28. If you’re going to wade in at least know what you’re talking about. An offer of 3+1 years to a contracted player that has interest from 3 other clubs would suggest a small forward is high on clubs wish lists.A 30yr old small forward isn't that high on anyone's list needs.
Wingard was 24 when he was traded not Ryan's age.
6 years is a bit outlandish. Where did that info drop?Cats have offered 6 yrs at $850 to $900k per year… why would he stay?
How old is he in 2026?He’s 28. If you’re going to wade in at least know what you’re talking about. An offer of 3+1 years to a contracted player that has interest from 3 other clubs would suggest a small forward is high on clubs wish lists.
Sorry, are we now referencing a player’s age in a trade at the end of the following season when they are two years older than present? So Jack Steele is 31 right? How old is he in 2026?
What 2 other clubs?
What about a 28 year old one?Collard won't be traded for a 30yr old small forward
30 yr old in 2026 small forward
Ryan is 28, he’ll be 29 for the entire 2026 AFL season. Get the facts right before contributing to the discussion.A 30yr old small forward isn't that high on anyone's list needs.
Wingard was 24 when he was traded not Ryan's age.
Better tell that to your coach and list manager, they’re chasing a contracted Liam Ryan and have put a substantial offer to him.A 30yr old small forward isn't that high on anyone's list needs.
Wingard was 24 when he was traded not Ryan's age.
