2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

They are obsessed with us as well. Always the loser club barbs. I have an ongoing cumulative ladder thread I maintain in ChatGPT. This is every clubs win % since the year 2000. So for the last 25 years the only clubs worse than the Blue were expansion clubs. Also, it is not like I cherry picked this data. We were dead last in year 2000 when the data starts.

Cats are miles in front, but only 6 teams with a winning % is interesting. We are roughly 8% better than the Blues, which is statistically significantly over about 500 games.

Dees have also poor for a long time, but snagging 1 flag makes it all worth it.

In summary, Carlton really have been diabolically poor for 2 and half decades. Its a bit rich for a 30 year old to be dishing out smack talk in our direction when all they have know is being diabolically crap.

The big question is, how long to the expansion teams overtake them 🤣

EDIT: My initial table was incorrect. It wasn't factoring in GWS and Gold Coast have played less games. GWS have already overtaken them. Glorious.

We've played in 7 draws since 2000.

2000 v West Coast
2002 v Sydney
2007 v Western Bulldogs
2010 v Hawthorn
2010 v Collingwood
2011 v Richmond
2018 v Greater Western Sydney

I think those numbers are incorrect.

The Korn being nice to us? Whats going on there.
There speds are just contrarians at any chance they can get.

Because general opinion is the Saints are spending too much money and fans of other clubs are of the opinion that the Saints are desperate, these potatoes just argue the other point.

In saying that though, they are right, for once.

Boyd was a stupid pick up, we were nether in the hunt and Moose had been on the list how long.

Heath is a monster who’s perfectly capable of providing a contest, we’d been using owens for a chop out for gods sake. We hindered Heath’s development and took up a list spot we could have used on any of the players already mentioned.

Big deal now we move on but it was imo a mistake.

A bit out there - don't hate on me - but with the loss of Jimmy, I'd like to see Garcia tried as a small defender. IMO he would be more valuable in that position for us than as another mid.
We're thin on other options and will have enough midfield depth.
I like the thinking, but Garcia is a point of difference in our midfield. Left foot, aggressive, quick and excellent inside-out hands. I think Stocker is the Webster replacement, with O'Connell also learning how to be accountable for another player.

If JSOS rumours are true then we should forget Aleer and go for him. However, I would imagine it would put more pressure on our TPP as he is a free agent and we are up against the Doggies and the Pies. He won't be coming for cheap if he comes as he is after the last big pay day and that is fair enough.

Or maybe he is coming for cheap because SOS had a "talk" with him

Good luck to Max but he is never going City grade , he will be spending most of his time trying to win a Maiden at Sale
