the greeks spoke Greek, Troy was/is in Anatolia so probably something Proto-Indo-European or Hittite related.

Not wanting to divert this thread, however as I'm currently in that part of the world at the minute I can't help myself (sacrifices a goat in honour of Aphrodite)

Troy was very close to the Aegean coast, within the influence of the ancient Greek and pre ancient Greek world. The earliest mentions of Troy are by Homer who labels them as speakers of ancient Greek.

Good chance they spoke that and other languages.

but greek was the lingua franca so no doubt the Trojans could speak ancient greek

I don't believe this is an official policy, but my intuition tells me that there is a league-wide moratorium on coaching panel announcements until after the grand final. Haven't seen any team announce new assistants yet. I assume there will be an avalanche of announcements when October comes around.

Yeah the employed coaches tend to announce swaps after the GF. I think they’re technically contracted employees until October, so makes sense.

King is absolutely still working at Geelong.

We'll have a better idea in a couple of weeks when we find out our coaching panel for next year. If it is a big improvement then the blame for previous hirings probably lies with others.

Apparently lifestyle for his family in Geelong is the overrider. Not heavy on the pay scale.

Ummm, they played together and probably have enormous respect for one another.
