This leaves $205k so could be tweaked.
Also relies on Boyd & Young being named.

Boyd back in for the break even and just takes the place of Heads who gets the boot for being my lowest averaging defender. If Boyd isn't in, Heads to Heath is an option.

If Young isn't named, I can use the spare $205k + Youngs $300k and just get anyone who will increase in price for the bench, then get Young next week. Surely she's named at some point.

Howley B.E 48
Grieves B.E 55

Achievable for both, so their cash gen can continue to climb a bit. One will have to go next week for any meaningful onfield upgrade to occur.

Thanks for the reply, mate!

Just no idea who to upgrade Butler to? Only have $663k to work with in terms of finding an upgrade. Do I downgrade to this Young everyone is chatting about and make some $$ to then do a downgrade of Ott to a rookie next week to fund the F5 upgrade next round?
If it's only that much, you might be better off upgrading Stone or Ott and hoping that Butler can put up a decent score. Both Stone and Butler have BEs above their average. You'll probably leak a bit of cash on at least one of them.

Otherwise, you could make a midpriced bet on somebody below $663K. I don't know if anybody good has lost enough cash and has a good BE, but that was the sort of player I looked at last year when I was in a similar situation to yours. Young on-field seems incredibly risky. You could potentially hold off Garner for another week, since she's still got a BE of 135, but Grieves/Rowley aren't likely to put up great M5 scores (shoutout to Daisy for instantly tanking Rowley's mid time).

It might be best to go all the way down at M6 to get over the $700K mark. You then have options like Richards, Hodder, Harris or Ponter. All of those carry some risk, but at least we know they can put up decent scores/averages.

EDIT: Fish got CBAs last round per DFS? Could wait a week and see if there's something in it.
The CBAs were at the start of the game. They didn't go well. It basically ruined Fish and Ham for the first quarter. I'd be surprised if they went back to that this week.

Fish has gone from scoring well in a stable role to being thrown all over the place, unnecessarily. Classic Gowans.

Typical bloody Gowans.

It'll be interesting to see if Priv is named this week. Seems to be only playing home games, possibly because she's a firey? No idea, and looked well of it last game, but could effect the other Syd forwards.

Is Boyd a definite in if she's available? Obviously would love the cash gen but feels risky with the injury (she's still a test), and her role coming back into a stacked team. Heath is only ~100k more with a low BE, do I just go there?

Is Tess Boyd back next round?

I can do Sheerin to Garner, O'Shea to Boyd and Howley to 300k player (at the moment have gone L Young, but thought about Patterson too).
I'm actually looking at nearly the exact same - I can actually squeeze it in with $27k left in the bank if I go Fish to Garner, O'Shea to Boyd and Howley to Young/300k.

Things I also want to do but will have to wait to next week...Koenen out, Paxman out and probably cash in Grieves to someone $300k to fund some defender upgrades. O'Shea and Fish out feels more of a priority...especially if I can reach Garner whose BE is 135 so she could potentially go up again this week.

I'm currently on Grieves -> Young (utility), Fish -> Hanks, O'Shea -> Heath. Feels sound enough.
Ofc my team's crap overall and I wish I could also trade all of my rucks and my bench, but them's the breaks.

Good changes. Our teams were getting too different. This will leave us with 13 common players on-field. Great minds think alike or fools seldom differ?

More seriously, O'Shea and Fish feel like must-trades where Koenen and Paxman could easily bounce back. Even after rough weeks, they're still 8th and 9th most points for defenders. Toogood is another one to think about next week before a North matchup.

Speaking of which, I had to laugh when FK Liam mentioned that he'd brought in Toogood after spending considerable time arguing against the move on their pod last week. I wonder how many people he talked out of it.

If there's a choice I'll pick the former :)

Haha yes - I nearly fell for it too, even posted it on here! Good thing you talked me out of it...phew.

Can you just fix up your bench this week?

I know the idea behind fantasy is to keep improving your on field players but I'm looking at my team and I feel a bit stuck.

I can go Grieves down to Reidy and Bacon down to a cheap player (I currently have Banfield) but I would putting that cash on either Verbrugge, Kos or Dunlop, getting me to a middle player, or I'd be putting money on the head of a midfielder or defender that is already doing reasonably well.

At the moment, I'm looking at biting the bullet and replacing Verbrugge and Kos instead with a view to trying to get more money to put on Grieves' head next week. My other trade would have to be Bacon but I'd only be getting a bench player in for her.

Nothing wrong with fixing your bench up but typically benches are downgrades so if all you do is 3 downgrades you aren't making the most of your cash - you're basically leaving points on the table if you aren't doing one upgrade with all that money? But if your bench players are already rookie priced and haven't moved much then yeah fair enough to want to change them up to improve them to get some cash generation going for future upgrades.

Good thing so far. Every time I feel good about a move, the fantasy gods love to give me a whack. Rentsch - great score round 1, out of my team two weeks later. Clarke and Boyd as well for varying reasons. The moment I start to feel smug about bringing in Toogood, it's over.

Rentsch looked so good in that first game. Was a tackling machine. My downfall was that I watched the game and thought she was incredible and figured I'd play her on field. Daisy keeps changing things up now, so can't trust any West Coast players and also, that was an outlier due to the GC matchup, which we now know.

I considered it as well, but at the end of the day, my other options at the price point were C.Thorne or keep Stone. And we all know what Toogood is capable of, plus she's more reliable than a rookie and an unknown like Thorne.

Too many times, I've listened to the podcasts and it swayed my trades the wrong way. I'll still listen to their opinions, but I think I prefer to just go it alone and do my own thing. At least if I fail, it's my own fault.

i think Kos owners would be going her to Young

I'm just hoping she doesn't get named and I can captain loop her for a week, personally. Perfect loop in between the North & Adelaide games.

I want a look at Young first, even though if she's anything close to passable I'll bring her in next week, because the FWD rook situation is dire.

On the podcast/youtubes, this is my first year not paying too much attention to them and doing my own thing, and I'm into my best rank ever by thousands. Probably just coincidence, but I have noticed a few cases this year of "Oh no don't bring in X", then a week later "I bought in X and she's amazing".

Rank 190, currently FWD line is Barnett, Ham, Toogood, Zanker & Woodland.
Trading Zanker > Goldsworthy or Molloy - any adivce? seems like a toss of the coin to me

Very much a toss of the coin. Sydney have North in 3 weeks, so there's that matchup coming soon. Trust your gut on this one imo.
