Clayton Homes would surely be unlikely to see the field again. Sounding like a 6-8 weeks job + doubled as it’s a granny. Would put him over the life ban???

Unless there is other footage the video shows nothing conclusive ( pretty grainy and only really catches vision of 31 falling to ground) from a review of incident perspective. Its bloody terrible that a bloke ended up knocked out though.

Haha Carol wouldn't let anyone on the podium to get their medal if they had a beer in their hand... She snatched one off Sam Thompson was pretty funny
I saw that. It seemed very odd. She seemed to have a few stern words to Sam too.

Everyone standing around the podium is having a beer but you can't have one on the podium

It is a common and completely reasonable request .
Sponsors pay good money and many do not want their brand associated with alcohol .
Parents are becoming more mindful of alcohol abuse and don’t want their kids involved in communities clubs where alcohol abuse is prevalent .
The game is struggling and clubs need to ensure they are at the forefront of providing an environment where parents want their kids to be involved .
Much the same as people drink at vote counts / presentation nights but they don’t take their alcohol on stage .

My kids went up yesterday and talking to them the off field stuff was a complete shambles
Wet area had a handful of of portaloos spaced around an area half the ground so was completely inadequate and long lines all day with people caught short having to piss in the open
Blocks of loos had three labelled men and one women but no staff at them so naturally being used by everyone meaning women stuck in long lines with men and having vile conditions to use toilet in
Barely any bins which were overflowing before quarter time so can were having to be dropped on ground creating a slip hazard on the asphalt and they saw a couple of people fall over on them
Long lines for food and drink and nowhere near enough sale points at each one with people milling around area and blocking access and no staff to manage area
You have to question why they are paying staff if they can’t manage the basics of an event

I reckon your at your happiest when youre complaining jack

Don't reckon I spent more than 2 minutes in line at the bar or BBQ yesterday. Could've done with some more toilets but wasnt aware of the behaviour described above.

I wasnt right in the middle of it all though, hung out the sides.

I think people generally accept there is going to be lines for food and drinks at stages during any big event so not so much of an issue but when you have women having to either use piss filled portaloos or walk three quarters of the ground to use the toilet block it’s pretty poor and an ordinary reflection on how women are valued as spectators

Except in Ballarat where it was the Carlton Draught BFNL Grand Final and everyone won a cheeseburger from McDonald's if Darley kicked the first goal. Holds those pickles ;)
Mind you, no Devils player brought a beer onto the podium.

Like you, I'm far from a killjoy .... it's not an unreasonable request to put the beer down for 20 seconds.
Sadly, clubs/leagues cop plenty of backlash about seemingly promoting alcohol.

Don’t think anyone would disagree not having a beer in hand is a reasonable request but if the having a crack at a player because of an incident in the game happened it’s pretty poor and no wonder people call them biased

Long had this conversation with a few mates.
There is an obvious need for another set of toilets, like at the other end, at the Barnard Street end.
A no-brainer.

Agree. It's not for officialdom to be imposing themselves on players at that moment.
I guess we'll never know, but would it be said if a different team was on the podium?

The first time I attended a Bendigo grand final would have been over 15 years ago and I was amazed at the set up
Food and bar facilities set up with barricades and running like clockwork they had a couple of those portable truck toilet things jumping castles and things going for kids and even a portable big video screen
Unquestionably the best country footy grand final set up by miles and I assume that was before all this paid staff stuff so how has it got worse?

None of that yesterday
