Traded Caleb Daniel - Traded to North Melb for pick 25

Looking at the ladder part way through the 5th round (for most teams) is peak North fan. There's 1 win separating 6th and 14th.

It's Macrae* - he is a fantastic player, but he's not better than Marcus Bontempelli, Adam Treloar, Tom Liberatore or Ed Richards, are you suggesting we don't do Macrae a favour and let him play senior football elsewhere? Smart list management is freeing up the salary and getting a player who more appropriately fills the role we wanted Macrae to play, all the while saving 1.2m in salary over the contract duration.

And yes, it's not a huge surprise that a team with very deep midfield depth has their midfielders play well at other clubs. I'm unsure why you are actually mentioning Smith though - we wanted to keep him lol? I suppose if we offered him an undeserved 1.3m per season he may have stayed, but only silly clubs make list management choices like that.

The fact that he is in your best is a large part of all of your problems - I like Caleb but he was rubbish.
Trelour is 32 Bont nearly 30 and both getting old men injuries. Smith is 24 - maybe you should have tried harder.

You finished 6th last year - anything less and - as above I’m correct - you’ve gone backward due to your poor off season.

Mentioning Bailey Smith again, unsure what he has to do with the club moving on players that have fallen out of favour.

Enjoy Caleb Daniel being your third best player every week mate, he's a gentleman, he played so hard he's out on the piss tonight after doing the same last night, hopefully your Kangaroos can take the next step and finish above 17th for the first time in half a decade.

Oh - and Macrae is 31 before Bontempelli turns 30, so yeah there's that.

You’re sitting 14th with Smith and Macrea killing it at other teams. Maybe jump into those threads and test your theory above. You went backwards in the pre season - yet as soon as we lose doggie supporters get excited about this trade. Truly bizarre.
Another reason we don’t look at the ladder part way through a round. In the words of the great Wild Bill. Truly bizarre.

He’d be fine in a more competitive and organised side. Pretty hard graft being the designated quarterback from half back in a side with a group of young kids and mature players recently bolted on all trying to gel and getting flogged while doing it, lots of players would look ordinary in that spot.

The issue is he’s lost a yard and he’s just so small there are only a couple of roles he can play without being a liability defensively.

Was hoping Caleb would get back to his best but in practice looks like a poor match of player and team. The Roos don’t give him the options he needs to pick off targets and he’s not adjusting and is continuing to bite off kicks that aren’t there.

On the Dogs side, we did incredibly well to turn a fringe player into pick 25. Jaques is tracking well from what looks like a great draft haul for us last year.

If they didn’t pick Jacques then you might be correct. Won’t be on their list in 2 years.

Jaques had a very good finals series on his way to being one of footscray’s best in a vfl premiership year.

Not bad for a first year player you’d googled in order to make this shit take just as a method of coping with north paying so much for Caleb Daniel.

I rate this as a worse trade than the Polec one. We have abject down to the finest of fine art.

I just don’t know how you have to give up pick 25 for a player the bulldogs actively wanted off their list.

Disaster.

A VFL premiership is like giving everyone a participation medal for turning up to athletics day in primary school.

I suppose after the Freo disaster you need to find some joy - anywhere you can.

this isn’t even trolling, it’s deliberately dumb shitposting.

Have of north’s developing kids played a crucial role in a vfl flag?

Like I said. You had no idea who Lachie Jaques is, you’ve just looked him up to run him down for the sake of it. You have never offered any actual insights, you just jump from thread to thread taking potshots at everyone to try to elevate north (hint - it doesn’t).
