Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Looks like it will be Sydney with their 2025 and 2026 1sts along with Hayward (have previously mentioned this). Half expecting Dattoli to be added due to our need for another forward.

Expect us to package their 2025 1st with our TDK compo to move up to 2 from West Coast.

The Curnow trade will get done like I’ve mentioned numerous times

nah - will need to be more than a mid range first rounder and late first rounder the next year

According to the world of Ai - front ended/back ended makes zero difference to the amount the player get paid - player only ever gets the agreed contract price (unless it’s agreed to come across for more/less) player can’t really “double dip” even with a front ended contract

I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that no clubs rate this draft. None of the kids being drafted this year are making us better in the next 2 years and probably never makes us better than Charlie at his best. Any deal for Charlie must include best 22 players and if picks need to be added they have to be future picks.
If we are getting picks from WC out of the Charlie trade it must be future picks not pick 2.

That's a horrible outcome for us. Sydney will finish top 4 next year with Charlie.

I dont think balancing can work given annual salary caps

too much of a risk for a club to be in breach of a salary cap if they suddenly had to pay someone out for "balancing" purposes

100% do that one

So Charlie & TDK gets us
Hayward
Pick 2
Sydney’s 1st 2026
Maybe Dattoli

Yep, looks like the club gets screwed for the cash, but has a more attractive bargaining position (player needs to be paid less) & has managed its cap

Do this and we're bottom 4 next year.

Would have no issue with this. But I rate Hayward.

Also, we’re going to need an additional 1st round pick to land Cody next year (if the new rules go into place).

Yep. Hayward is a very good player and nearly got to us a couple of years ago.

It doesn’t look like an obvious “win” or “significant overs” for a contracted player.
TDK is always going to screw us in what we get for him though- that’s just the system
dont disagree on the TDK compo

Certainly under values Curnow and a missed opportunity to speed up the reset if thats what we are doing

Would certainly mean goodbye Voss next year as coach

My concern is if we trade up this year like we did last year that will be 6 first round picks used for three players. And one has already done a knee.

Elliot's offer from the Pies is something insane like $450k, I read - so maybe he's moving for something reasonable / average like $500/600k. Still think we should get in on that action. Even just to stop him from utterly murdering us like he finds a way to every year.
Yep, did the maths in another post. Quite easily could pocket $1M with an extra year & coin.
Has a family lure in QLD.

Could be a win if

* pick 2 is a gun - which is likely
  • Sydney shit the bed & 26 1st is top 8
  • Dattoli is incl and comes on as a player
  • Hayward steps up
