What do you think Trac is worth to Suns?
I’d do Flanders and 6 with 23 coming back or even 6 & 7 and 23 back, if we can get 7 for Flanders from saints, but I’m prob in the minority. Draft picks mean nothing to me lol. Next to nothing coming through the academy next year, so we can just go into a deficit this year to get the academy kids we want

I would do Trac+23+Mcvee compo for 6+7

Would even be willing to pickup a chunk of cash for that deal

Love a good multi trade. Well done sir.
Just had to make an account after lurking.

Not sure if this was genuine, but haven’t you complained for pages that the only thing that would get the deal done is a player, then praise a deal with no players going to Melbourne?

Honestly just seems like you’d be happy to let Petracca go for a half eaten bag of smiths chips as long as it’s not to the Crows the way you’ve been acting.

Players from Crows because your picks are shit.

I know you’ve gone on about salary cap, and how Melbourne aren’t affected. Crows don’t have very many, if anyone, over 1m. Dawson would be on the edge. They would happily pick up the full lot.

You may not see this as anything to worry about, but when you’re signing players in the future and you’re paying 500k to a player that is no longer on your list. It doesn’t help. It’s dead money.

You don’t want picks, so you have to pay for players to lure them to the club. It doesn’t make sense that salary cap would not be a factor as it could reduce the possibility of bringing in a YOUNG star

That goes both ways though right?

I’m misunderstanding, how would it go both ways if one has the player that they’re paying for, and the other is paying for another club to have their old player?

Yeah, It’d go both ways if we were looking to offload. Why would any club want to pay for someone they no longer have in their side?

not sure but crows have to be the favourite to land him imo
Based on what?

We've seen players take meetings with clubs lately as due diligence before signing elsewhere.

Petracca strikes me as very business minded/calculating long term. I think his "brand" is at it's most valuable in Melbourne and that a big Vic club would be a logical move.

I'm actually surprised that Collingwood haven't been linked to him yet, wasn't it reported previously that he was a big pies fan growing up? one last roll of the dice with Pendles/sidebottom still around could make sense. Their list will implode a year or two later though.

I also think that Hawthorn would still be interested, but that Merrett would be their priority.

We also won't want to weaken our draft hand next year too much since Cooper Hodge is coming through as a potential father-son.

They pay for draft capital. Young draftees get paid **** all, so if we get a high pick by paying more, by the time they need a good contract, that residual cash would have diminished / freed up.

You are underselling his influence around the youngsters coming through.
Not only that, he’s 22, he’s got a whole lot more development to do, and he’s already a pretty good small forward.

If he wasn’t, people on here wouldn’t continue asking for him.

The draft is, and always will be, a gamble.

by this logic it sounds like you’re happy with picks and also the contract payout doesn’t matter much at all, since you won’t be bringing in any established players? So you’re sort of contradicting yourself a little when you’re asking for established players…

Let’s see what Morris says on footy furnace.
He has already said it's was 50/50 today whether it's Crows or GCS after initially leaning toward GCS yesterday and the more of the salary the club takes on then the less trade value will be requested by Melbourne.
