The draft is, and always will be, a gamble.

by this logic it sounds like you’re happy with picks and also the contract payout doesn’t matter much at all, since you won’t be bringing in any established players? So you’re sort of contradicting yourself a little when you’re asking for established players…

It’s just fair value really.

The Melbourne mouth piece lol
The guy who knew Goodwin was being sacked b4 he did yeah ill believe him NOT

thats like saying Sam McClure is good at his job lol

Morris gets pretty good Demons news, dismiss him all you want but he broke the Goodwin sacking news 10m after the players found out.

if Adelaide can pull of this trade it would be huge...
Adding petracca is just what the midfield needs.
Will be plenty to play out with how this falls, but the Dees cant go through any more years of having a player looking to jump ship constantly.

Based on what?

We've seen players take meetings with clubs lately as due diligence before signing elsewhere.

Petracca strikes me as very business minded/calculating long term. I think his "brand" is at it's most valuable in Melbourne and that a big Vic club would be a logical move.

I'm actually surprised that Collingwood haven't been linked to him yet, wasn't it reported previously that he was a big pies fan growing up? one last roll of the dice with Pendles/sidebottom still around could make sense. Their list will implode a year or two later though.

I also think that Hawthorn would still be interested, but that Merrett would be their priority.

We also won't want to weaken our draft hand next year too much since Cooper Hodge is coming through as a potential father-son.
A lot of competition for media between the clubs in Vic.

Adelaide has 82k members, not too far behind Hawks, and only have one other team to compete with. As you’ve seen with ginnivan getting the media attention their airport, it’s very easy to become the hero, or the villain, of the majority (sorry power fans) of the state. Brand petracca would have no issues here.

Gold Coast on the other hand, in an NRL dominated state, the opportunities would be less in my opinion

How do you suggest trade with crows gets done

I agree, he should go for fair value.

But we should also be able to agree that his value isn’t what it was 4 years ago right?

Rioli went to suns for two first with late picks back, and everyone thought, and most still think, that was well overs.

GC can do that sort of thing for players they are desperate for because their later picks can be used up for academy players, I don’t think the midfield is their biggest issue at the moment. I doubt they’d be doing similar, considering their haul of academy prospects this draft.

First rounder + future first makes sense, taking the whole contract costs, for both teams wherever he decides to go.

Rachele was in AA squad contention prior to injury.

In his first four years he has rated up there statistically for a small forward.

He’s certainly in the same ballpark as those players I mentioned.

I don’t like how soft he is. It frustrates me.

I’d also suggest a combo of either this years first or next years, with butts.

There was speculation that the price for him is a first rounder or an early second. He’s also what the demons need with may getting pushed out and KPP are harder to come by.

May is pushed out because we have a plethora of young key backs we want to give games to. Bringing in Butts is counter intuitive to that.
