Schubert is the only tall in the 1R I want from this draft, and that’s to play at CHB. If I was the Dons I’d be taking the Richmond approach and making sure I get CDT and Schubert then take the good mids from the top next year.

I also think they should take a punt on Hertherton with a very late pick

WC 2. Sharp - Best mid - SA

Rich 3. Robey - Best available mid - VIC Metro

Rich 4. CDT - 2nd Best Talent - VIC Metro

ESS 5. XT - Best Defender - VIC Metro

ESS 6. Cumming - Best available mid - SA

ESS 7. Schubert - Best forward - SA

Can’t see West Coast picking up the vic metro guys. They just don’t do it.
I could also see them overlooking Duursma for Cumming to have a Sharp Cumming midfield which would make sense for them, but it probably highly unlikely they overlook the best talent in the draft even if he’s a utility.

Richmond ideally would pick two mids - Sharp and Robey is my wish but I also think if one or more of Duursma and CDT are there they won’t overlook the talent.

Essendon get a great mix of players as well for their rebuild.

Can’t see the bombers trading up based on who would be available.

All clubs would be happy with their picks.

Take Robey and just take whoever it is Giesch really wants at 4 and back in the recruiters even if Grlj is a “pick 10” or Poo is “pick 16”.

Outside of Duffma, I don't think he has any confidence in the order of the top picks yet.

Yeah he clear wasn’t interested in us and wanted to get Essendon. But what I felt he was saying is basically Robey/Cumming/XTaylor at 3 and 4 but if we get a trade back it’ll be Grlj/poo

I also think if you have a first round talent that fills such an obvious hole then they will develop well and end up being better than where they are rated in a draft.

As opposed to the opposite, grabbing a bloke who you already have 4 guys playing his role and he's left to flounder in a role he's not suited or in the VFL and he will end up worse than where he's rated.

Yeah, I'd love a pick split. But the other team would be pretty silly, unless the deal wasn't in our favour.

I reckon we'll end up with our natural picks just because there won't be partners to trade with.

I like it. Still think Draper FA is band 2 and that pick 7 is GCS which we should be able to points trade/no bids for and we take Cumming or Schubert.

Also, he’s much younger. But I do think we should push hard for a decent pick for Young.

I like him, and I think a club that needs that sort of player should be paying a pick around 20 in a weak draft.

Even though we already have Sims? New ruck rules (no centre bounce) favour 1 giant ruckman for centre clearances. We have 0 of those.

I think the new kick in rules will be the death of big rucks. More athletic rucks with big engines, marking & goal kicking ability will become prized... Nank could be the prototype?
