Still thinks we look to split 4 for 2 later picks or 1 later & 1 future to look at Phillipou & Grlj. Said not sure much appetite for teams to trade a future to get up.

WC 2. Sharp - Best mid - SA

Rich 3. Robey - Best available mid - VIC Metro

Rich 4. CDT - 2nd Best Talent - VIC Metro

ESS 5. XT - Best Defender - VIC Metro

ESS 6. Cumming - Best available mid - SA

ESS 7. Schubert - Best forward - SA

Can’t see West Coast picking up the vic metro guys. They just don’t do it.
I could also see them overlooking Duursma for Cumming to have a Sharp Cumming midfield which would make sense for them, but it probably highly unlikely they overlook the best talent in the draft even if he’s a utility.

Richmond ideally would pick two mids - Sharp and Robey is my wish but I also think if one or more of Duursma and CDT are there they won’t overlook the talent.

Essendon get a great mix of players as well for their rebuild.

Can’t see the bombers trading up based on who would be available.

All clubs would be happy with their picks.

Doubt we pick up CDT. If he's still on the board we'll get some serious offers for pick 4 though.

it’s the obvious problem with our dreams of sliding. Which club and who for at 3? And nobody wants to give up a f1 in good draft for a pick in this draft.

Take Robey and just take whoever it is Giesch really wants at 4 and back in the recruiters even if Grlj is a “pick 10” or Poo is “pick 16”.

Can only see it being Gold Coast's 7/8 or Hawthorn's 9 tbh. Both will be expecting top4 and Hawthorn will be going for Butters next year as a FA. Draft picks less currency for them.

4 for 7/8 and F1 from GC when Flanders goes to St Kilda
4 for 9 and F1 from Hawthorn because they want to trade an earlier pick to Essendon to get Merrett (depends if Essendon want 4 or just want Hawthorn's 9 and F1. Id say Essendon want Hawthorn's 9 and 2027 F1)

On draft night he just continued to fall down the order until Freo must have said, we can’t not take him. Something was obviously amiss and the clubs all knew it.

Think I'd seen a post on here that said Robey had been in our thinking if we split picks BEFORE his break out.

He's obviously not going to be there if we split now but seemed we were already one of the keen clubs.

Both us and others had been tracking him prior to the break out, but that’s not highly unusual. There’d be dozens of players I’d have thought

Freo spoke really highly of him but his body kept breaking down over 3 years so he pulled the pin. It is amazing that clubs did pass on him though, perhaps there was something in the medical reports at the time?

Article I read had him bid on at 10, not 16 (16 is the original pick they had) but either way, he's been bid on well before that.

I reckon it went down when you combine the bounce and last touch changes.

Throwing it up removes the unpredictability of your shorter/less athletic ruck maybe winning the tap. Teams will just rove to the tall ruck which CDT isn’t.

Any advantage gained by setting up behind the ball due to last touch rule is diminished by him not being able to take a grab.

It's not last touch though, its last disposal. It means there will be more boundary throw ins on the wings as teams will be able to knock it out.
