I live in Qld and if you are not a Lions supporter there is not much AFL news. So I tuned into AFL Trade Radio and what a mistake that was.
It seems that I tuned in thinking that there would be a focus on AFL news when the real purpose of it is advertising.
At the last “ad break” before I tuned out there were 11 separate ads. It seems that in Trade Radio any talk about the AFL is an interruption to the ads.

I'm not getting the love for Andor tbh. First season was meh (picked up last few episodes granted) and currently half way through the second season that everyone raves about and it still...meh. Acting good. Story...meh.

Have you already seen Rogue One?

About a month ago a was up for a bit of Star Wars. I hadn't seen Rogue One before. Interwebz said you should watch Andor before Rogue One. Which I did. I found Andor great. Then watched Rogue One.

What don't you like about Andor? I have yet to watch any of the other ones like Obi Won or Mandalorian or the Boba Fett one.

I think what ****s it up is the order that they make these shows. There's a prequel then a sequel and a prequel to the sequel etc. They are really messing around with it. It tends to screw things up.

The ending is worth slogging it out.

It’s by far the best piece of Star Wars media since the original trilogy imo. Well unless you count KOTOR which is a goat tier video game.

Yeah seen everything else. Don't even get me started on Boba Fett. That's basically a Disney troll - lets see how stupid our audience really is :$

I just find the story in Andor very confusing and hard to follow. Rogue One I loved. I'm in the unpopular camp that thought The Acolyte was great but they shitcanned it after one season ending on a somewhat of a cliff hanger :(

I still remember playing through KOTOR for the first time and coming up to the plot twist.

Spent the whole day with my jaw on the ground.

Never seen anything like that since.

Kotor 2 is no slouch either.

I really liked it (Andor) plus I hadn't seen Rogue One before and it led straight into it so that worked really well for me. Rogue One was great. KOTOR I remember playing that back in the day on the OG Xbox. That was just epic. I'm suprised it wasn't made into a movie or at least remade for modern consoles. I played the light side.

So you are well into Andor now. I guess it is one that just doesn't click with you. I did find it confusing at the start as you suddenly have a bunch of new characters who all have weird Star Wars names. It did take me a while to figure out what was going on and who was who. Plus the senate stuff drags a bit, take it to the SRP board FFS.

I really did like it and it made a great entry in to Rogue One, which I think is the best Star Wars movie since the original trilogy. I think I will watch Obi Wan next. I haven't watched the Solo one yet but I heard it is a bit shit. I think they are making a Lando one also.

The more I think of episodes 7-9 the more I think how shit they are. Everyone was excited to see the old crew back together but 7-9 were basically a remake of 4-6 as the storylines were basically the same.

I was going to mention that twist but you beat me to it. Bigger twist then the one in Empire IMO.

The second KOTOR was good also but not up to the first one.

The second KOTOR was good also but not up to the first one.

KOTOR 2 wasn't properly finished and released with some noticeable bugs.

Storyline was epic though; do you double down on your (character's pre-game) actions, or do you seek redemption? It's something so recognisably human, no matter the setting.

I really hope this setting is explored further, through some games and/or TV (just get someone competent to showrun). I know there's an MMO put there, but a brand new series would be huge.

There's a remake being made, but it's been through a turbulent development thus far.
I did hear about that but it was a few years ago and nothing seems to be happening so assumed it was going nowhere.

Maybe some rights issue or something but if any game is worth a remake it is that one. They have done one with Mass Effect so maybe it is some copyright thing. I remember when Mass Effect was announced there was talk of Bioware wanting to create their own franchise which they didn't have to pay royalties to.

Mass Effect is great also. Surprised no movie has been made. Another one I THINK may have had a movie planned.

I did like it but can't remember much about KOTOR 2. Bioware didn't make it, I think it was Obsidien or something.

I have never got into MMO's so never played The Old Republic.

Disney will want to milk Star Wars for everything they can so there will probably be something eventually set in the old republic. But it is set about 4000 years before Episode 4. How would they make it look? People would just want the standard Star Wars thing but 4000 years, it can't be the same.

Obsidian made 2. Both Bioware and Obsidian are garbage now days though unfortunately. Bioware's best was Baldur's Gate 2 and the expansion Throne of Bhaal, One of the GOATS. The voice acting and party banter has yet to be topped.

Doctor Who >>>>>>> Star Wars

Don't make fight you nerds
We are all on some strange site about football with other things mixed in. We are all nerds.

Classic Doctor Who is well, classic. The newer ones lost me after a few seasons. To me they just didn't have that ingredient that the classic Doctor Who had. I can't really explain what it it, just not the "magic" of the classic series. That's the best I can put it.

Always liked Jon Pertwee. Maybe he was the first one I watched as a kid on those ABC repeats all those years ago.

would be hard to make a mass effect movie since it's a heavy choice based game. a tv show (given what we've seen from video game tv ala fallout + last of us) wouldn't be that bad tbh

Did you know George Lucas went to Jon Pertwee's funeral in 1996 ? (The Third Doctor)

Also Gai Waterhouse once appeared in a few episodes of Tom Baker's Doctor in the mod 70s (The Invasion of Time) ?

Weren't Bioware bought out by EA I think. That would always reduce your creative freedom.

I forgot Jade Empire by them, that was great.

There was that major controversy about Mass Effect 3. They always went on about the end of it would not be some black and white choice. But is really was and they had to release an update.

I did not know that. He died right around the time of that TV movie with Paul McGann. I wonder if he saw it before he died.

Didn't know about Gai Waterhouse. Of course the famous one is John Cleese in City Of Death. Also Sean Connery and Patrick Troughton's sons were in a couple as well.

Tom Baker is now 91. Always good for a laugh, Doctor Who or otherwise.
