Daicos won't for the EXACT same reasons i just gave.

Players "brands" are way more valuable now than they ever have been.
Is his 'brand' worth $3 million that he misses out on in the first year and more after that?
I haven't seen Nick's face on a bottle of pasta sauce or anything .

Gary Ablett is the exact reason why Tassie won’t give all the money to one superstar but instead spread amongst many

That one move held the GC back for years when compared to the GWS approach
Tasmanian can give a $3 million sign on bonus to one player as far as I know.

players make an outrageous amount off sponsorship deals if theyre good enough. staying at pies ties him into a lucarative nike deal for years. the brand power of pies and daicos combined, hell be way better off at pies than tucked away in tassie.

No it can be shared among multiple players.
It's $5 million in sign on bonuses but $3 million can be spent on one player I think.

'In addition the club received a $5 million sign-on bonus to sit outside the salary cap for the first two years in the competition.'

They've got $5m in total over 2 years, but can use a max of $3m each year. They can spread it over multiple players or use the whole lot on one player.

They're even allowed to pay one player over both years, so in theory they could spend the whole $5m on a single player.

What players do you think they'll target? One will definately be Nick Daicos.

Luke Jackson beat CDT by 1 second in the 2km. CDT beat Jackson by 0.2 seconds in the sprint. 😳

Height & leap still to come.

Even if they do that they'll still be in deficit next year if they match bids on Uwland and Patterson at 2 & 4, thus missing out on the 4 or 5 other Academy kids.

If they pass on Patterson then they'll have the opportunity of picking up 2-3 of those Academy kids.
