Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

If we can turn Curnow into two 1sts and two players, I’d be much more inclined to take that over packaging everything up for Butters. There’s also the salary saving side. Now, if he’s a free agent next year…

Wouldn’t mind drafting Schubert (pending the availability of a few others) to help balance the list a bit. He’d need a year in the VFL but I’d sleep better with a half decent key forward sitting there if McKay goes down.

How are you saving salary when you turn Curnow into 4 players? Curnow's contract is modest for his stature in the game.

Florent and Hayward means we are paying more than for Charlie alone.

They also have the ability cap wise to match any free agency offers come next season. So a trade will be forced also.
Unless they get a ridiculous offer, there is absolutely no incentive to trade him.

Yep - if the club is preaching stability, last thing I’d want is both the coach and captain to be in the last year of their deals in 2026.

When Walsh commits, he can be captain.
