I've already posted that I think this match against Carlton is absolutely vital to our finals chances. If we get beaten this weekend I think 90% we won't be playing finals.

And, in more, ominous news, I'm concerned the Chloe Molloy won't play. Today she did not participate in training at all, was just on the sidelines. She hasn't been mentioned in the injury report (which will be highly suspect if she doesn't play) but clearly there is an issue with her body. Hopefully they are just managing the issue and she does get up. However it could also explain the decline in her output since her red hot start to the season.

Anyway, I didn't really want to be the thread starter but this seemed the best place to post this intel. Was good to see the girls running around. There were about 3 Academy players involved (possibly including Neyland and Quinn but I couldn't confidently recognise them) but they looked a bit out of their depth to me. I think Juneja may also have been involved - so maybe she's a chance at getting on the list? Time will tell.

I'll be there on Sunday, cheering us on. Hope many others can make it too!

I understand Sofia Hurley was not training today and Chloe was largely resting on the sidelines. Anyone know more?

I was at training and can confirm same but not sure I can add any more. What were you hoping to find out? Whether they will play? I don't know the answer to that unfortunately.

Even if both Chloe and Sofia miss, we can still win provided we're completely committed and disciplined.

Maybe the clubs can raise the stakes. Winner gets both Hayward and Curnow (with a token 4th round pick going the other way as consideration).

Though if we substitute JMac for Hayward, maybe Gardiner will have a blinder.

Team selection:

The Swans have lost classy midfielder Sofia Hurley to injury for the second time this season, with Darcy Moloney earning a return for a must-win clash with Carlton. First-year players Sarah Steele-Park and Amelia Martin have both been omitted, while Ash Van Loon and Ruby Sargent-Wilson return.

OUT: Hurley, Martin, Steele-Park

IN: Sergeant-Wilson, Moloney, van Loon

None of these are the players who will make the difference. We need players like McEvoy, Molloy and Ham to step up.

On whether this weekend is a do-or-die match
"Yeah, it is. We're treating it as that. I think every game from here on out is a bit of do or die for us. We've put ourselves in a position where we started really well and the last four weeks haven't been what we wanted. So, this weekend's a really good chance to be able to put our best foot forward.

The Swans simply must win to stay in touch with the top eight, while the Blues would like to notch a win to keep their top four chances realistic.
