Spot on. Meanwhile they've got spud Stanley in the ruck as a 35yo
Old Rhys doesn't get many kicks/ marks/ HB's but what he does have is a knack of tapping the ball in the right spots for his midfielders and bringing the ball to ground. Rhys has no real competition. Blicavs plays as a ruck rover & Neale plays CHF. He gets paid next to nothing.

It’s interesting, isn’t it. I feel like Toby is just too hot headed for captaincy, and their other leaders have declined a lot recently if they haven’t outright retired.

Imagine Tom Green or Taylor are next
Toby was captain of the year recently. I was surprised because of melts and bad moments. He could also fail in talking to the media.

I have no doubt he’s rated internally, he is their first sole captain in their history from memory. Just gets suspended too often for my liking from a skipper

The Magpies had expressed interest in Melbourne onballer Clayton Oliver, but have now set their sights on Simpkin, who this masthead revealed last month was unhappy with his midfield time after finishing the season in a wing role.

Simpkin is contracted until the end of the 2029 season, so it would likely take a strong first-round pick to convince the Kangaroos to part with him.
Strange for a captain to be openly complaining, for a year, about his playing position.

He'd need to take a pay cut and there is no way in the world I'd want to spend a high first rounder on him.

Feels like it's 3am at the pub and we are shooting our shot with whoever and whatever is available on the dance floor.

Do like the fact he has pace.
Gets a few head knocks which is concerning.
Better proposition than Jack Steele though.

The kicker might be that Geelong are not asking for any picks back.
I can’t tell you if you’re being facetious 😂

Let’s say they finish 4th in both of those two advance years. Before FA compensation and bids on players that offer is pick 19, pick 15 and pick 22.

A simple response to this is does Carlton say yes to it? Geelong probably aren’t dropping below 4th in any of those years before you add Curnow you then add him and it’s unlikely any of those picks are before 20. It’s a nothing offer.
I think Cats are pressuring Saints to take their Marshall offer.

I'm not so sure.

I'm not so sure. Maybe at the right price?

Not for a 1st rounder - we have bigger fish to fry.
North have stockpiled so many midfielders, they have a few that aren't getting games.
Will Phillips is another.
They keep avoiding drafting players they really need, like key defenders.
Sort of like us with key forwards under Dekka.
