Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Those shoulder injuries really curtailed Durdin; not doubting his courage or toughness, but after the second lot of surgery he seemed to struggle to stick a tackle.

He actually reminded me a bit of a Temu Butters when he first started to come on, but alas injuries and form have meant he’s never had an extended senior run.

Ripping individual as well; not sure he’ll play much for Port, but Central Districts will be rubbing their hands together in a couple of years.

I expected it'd be something like this. Swapping Durds, who's been in and out, for a more experienced and dynamic (at his best) forward that can run through the middle (at least when he got the chance as an early 20 yo) - is great business.
Port - Carl F2, Durdin
Carlton - 29, Ainsworth
GC - 29
If we had essentially swapped them directly, it'd be amazing. But if its costing F2 and Durds, we've effectively thrown Durds away and paid around 25 for BA, which is overs in my mind.

See what the official move is. Still, Ainsworth makes us better and will surprise. So pleased to get him to the club.

Here is a rumour from left field - Craig McRae to the Blues in 2026. Not sure if he is to replace or support Vossy.

I personally don't believe it, but it came from someone who is highly respected in Australian sport. The bloke has an OAM and a lot of contacts. Not the type I would be expecting to spread BS. He went on to say things are impoding at the Lexus Centre and that Fly and Leppa are at war with each other. This last piece is my favourite part of the rumour!

Wrighty and Fly not exactly on each others Christmas Card list either. ;)

Ok, I know next to nothing about Ainsworth. I've checked his stats and I'm a little bit perplexed. He's at most a goal-a-game forward. Am I missing something?
He's an average plodder. Was taken high in the draft in 2016 or 17. Giving up a future second round pick for Ainsworth is terrible. Look at his career stats.
