Traded Tylar Young [Traded to West Coast for Pick #38]

Nah it would probably be one of our thirds for an F3 or something

So your saying your only 3rd round pick is 53 and the Tigers give you Tylar Young and if we finish 18th next year you get our pick 37. Hmmm:rolleyes:

Anything better than pick #58 is over paying for a 27 year old uncontracted player thats played 35 games and coming off a knee injury. especially when you could get him in the PSD

I would be furious if my team paid more than that for a player like Tyler Young

You've really got to wonder what West Coast are hoping to achieve with this.

Young is a 27 year old who's a handful of games back from an ACL. He did his ACL after being dropped from the worst team in the comp.

What's the upside here? At absolute best he looks like a fringe player in a good team. His recent form has been a fringe player in a bad team.

4 years looks crazy. Now they feel obliged to stick with him instead of going for a much younger player with much higher ceiling in Leek Aleer who would probably come for a similar price.

Clearly you are going off stats and have no idea on him as a player, as I doubt you have seen him play to say things like this TBH

Well he is a much better prospect than Ratugaloea , that I can guarantee you

I will also predict that he will be West Coast best defender for the next 4 years

Will be more important to West Coast structurally than Liam Baker for example

Lol. Hi blaisee.

I'm truly shocked you're ridiculously overrating another Richmond player and bringing up random former Geelong players with no relevance to the discussion.

Let's be honest. The fact you're talking about Young as a "prospect" despite being 27 says it all. He might be useful depth for a decent team in an injury crisis. But he's never going to move the needle and targeting him when you're in the middle of a rebuild makes no sense.

There's a reason Richmond aren't going anywhere near matching the deal West Coast have offered.

If Aleer was worth what you suggest he would have more interest then he is getting. Its a much of muchness. Does a 3 year age difference make a difference? Yes. Its why they are worth different draft currency...

We are just better off with the cheaper option and maintaining our 2nd rounders at this point

41 for Young and FF3 and I’d be content. 41 straight up I’d feel like we’d be going slight overs there. In isolation I don’t care but given we’ve now gotten slight unders in 2 other deals for players going out, it’s just an aggregate. Certainly frustrating.

Yeah an early 3rd rounder in a shit draft for a best 23 player in his prime PLUS an early 3rd rounder in a better draft.

Delusional.

This is such an odd take. The guys walks in as your best KPD, you have targeted him specifically.

This posturing is so similar to the Baker thread last year and look how that turned out for you guys.

I seriously question if WC fans actually know anything about Tyler.

That said, he isnt worth what many posters suggest, but in this draft, a pick between mid 30's and early 40's is hardly over paying.

Severely overrating your players trade value here… he’s a good player but he’s not our best KPD, nor is he in contract, nor is he experienced or a recognised leader, nor does he have a flawless injury record, nor does he have a place in your future backline. If Richmond had to order their priorities at KPD he’d be last. You’d be extremely lucky to be getting 41 from any other club that didn’t have a plodder at the trade desk

I question if most WC fans know anything about football in general.

Meh, it's essentially Chesser for Young. Fair swap imo

Exactly how I feel about RIC fans saying he’d be our immediate best defender.

I think given he’s out of contract, has requested a move, and a myriad of other things just mentioned above, that 41 is pretty generous. Not the cut throat approach to list management that a generationally bad team needs imo

I’d challenge you to find anywhere in this thread where I’ve said he’s crap or a bad target or anything like that. In our miserable situation we just need to have some balls for once

So 41 and a F3 is basically the same value bearing in mind where we will finish, so essentially you want him for no draft capital??

Said previously and I’ll reiterate, short term and floor wise that’s totally fair, long term upside wise that’s a pretty frustrating loss
There's still this idea that Chesser's going to suddenly become a good player....I don't see it. He'll be in and out of Carlton's side for the next few years and then de-listed.
Leaving Chesser out of it 41 for Young is fair, Richmond would probably like to get more, we would like to give less, so it's probably about right.

The problem is you are listing and considering only your own negatives and not the flip side.

Walk up starter
Fills a huge gap
KPP
Shit draft
Mature Body
Best footy is VG

You are also saying he is 5th best KPD, right now, he is walk up starter in our best 22/23 also.
