I know they've signed Fenner , but someone above believes there's a ruckman coming too , If butch plays on , their forward line consists of Argall (40) Butsch (43) Matthews (38) i have no dramas with age but they will need to find youth one day , and its a long season

Laharum will announce a ruckman from the Wimmera football league in the coming days, will be another tall recruit. As people have said, will be an older side, however it is a long season and if can bank wins and manage them then I dare say they will be there abouts in the pointy end of the year, especially if Whelan is eligible.

Do we have names? Second or third person here to post it. Sounds like a couple of teams in the league are on the spend and improve. Others may be left well behind. As stated above and previous might be a cleared top few than previous years. Shame as we need a more competitive hdfl not a thrashing most weeks.

The enormous Dimmy exodus continues, nice pick up. According to socials him and fenner potentially played at pegs together? Couple more to come or is this it?
If you can play for dimboola you’ll be more than good enough to play in HDFL. Laharum build continues.
Believe HB are going to announce a couple in coming days also.

Think that will be it at this stage, couple tall recruits always handy. Be interesting to see if the top 2 announce a few or go with what they had in 2025.

Another tall in for the demons gee they will be hard to stop aerially. NQ back 6 may finally get tested. According to socials both the talls have played at the same Vafa club in the past. Must be linking up together again for some $.

as stated above HB will be announcing a few this week despite rumours of a couple of outgoings.

Seems nati are quite active according to here ? Might be a rapid rise. HB not announcing has me questioning the talk of incomings is false.

dont really know about nati and maddox but some money is defiently in there and for rees he has mates over there
be pretty safe to assume there would be some money in there aswell though, that is just the way footy is nowdays

I dont think they have anything else huge coming in.. maybe some smalls but they have filled the roles they wanted to fill

the one area they needed was scoreboard return. They’ll get that now with Argall going forward and the addition of the Vafa forward Fenner . Both will have days out as one is getting the 2nd. Throw the dimmy ruckman down their resting at times as well it gives them plenty of flexibility in how they want to line up and at time stretch the backs.

Still think the top 2 have a bit on them, but it’s definitely close now.

Butsch is very far from a ruckman. He’s only 6 foot or so. Was a gun on baller in his day but more a key forward/ pinch hit mid now.
Brett Ervin is an intercept type defender/ lock down defender, not a ruckman.
Thomas covered Argall when he went down in finals but again, isn’t really a ruckman, more a key back.

Laharum will pick up at least a couple more before the season starts next year.
Always has a flow on effect if you can recruit 2-3 before xmas and pre season goes back. Easy to sell to other potential recruits that use are well on the right path and in contention.

2 handy ins then. RDFL best defender is good and also means flexibility, must of missed him when I watched their games although was a few years ago. Saw a game or 2 at dimmy went okay and was like a tractor he just ploughed away all day with minimal rest. Looked up Fenner online as have never watched vafa games but seems to get enough looks at it with near 200 goals in 4 years at the club. will get plenty of looks based on incomings and current crop there. This is a dream for Argall and Butch if he goes on. With age be wary, but as you said I suggest against a far away Edenhope who may struggle again in the middle of winter may be a planned bye for many of these older men.

Hopefully a few more sides get active so we have a bit more to talk about.
Early predictions anyone? Or is October too early for such a request.

but at this stage from what we know it seems laharum defiently have the upper hand. they were not far off it this year and if these players really do turn it on and the new team can gel i feel they will be hard to beat..... crazy work for the club who was ready to fold not long ago.

James Hallet the big body mid from Quantong is an almost definite to return in 2026.... i think he may start mid way through season though.

HB had three resigning's at the end of the year before the grand final, are they actually any good?

The local news was a nice write up for a couple clubs. Fenner and Macdonough played together a few years ago it was stated, so gelling between those 2 should be no issue considering that. the issue is as for all "fly in" players is the gelling without training. Such as the structure, gameplan and limited exposure to everything game day related. Miller seems bullish on Laharum

Nice write up for a few other clubs also. Good to see down the road a few clubs already commencing pre season also, Mid november is about right for clubs to get a decent block of work in pre xmas.

as for HB re signigns, seem decent enough dont they for a side that was clear 1.
