Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Given that we don't need to move Marshall and the Cats know it, I would be surprised if they give us next years 1st.

If that is what we are asking it can't be far off the mark.

Surely they don't want to go into next year with Stanley as their first ruck option again.

Its up to them and them only who they go into season 2026 i their ruck.

Apparently we are not asking for anything specific, they said no to pick 19 and when Mackie asked them what they wanted, they wouldn't say, basically you come back with your best offer probably a F1 and a player (not a Hustwaite type spud either).
Up to Mackie to make the deal not us asking for anything. We have what we want in Marshall.

Let’s say he was… the current situation would actually make it feasible to extract him.

Last 2 days and we wouldn’t budge for picks. Lure of playing with his brother and they have coverage etc.

Geelong's big thing is they never put a player on the table if he hasn't requested a trade, so surely Tom could tell Sam to nominate us if he wants to play with his bro.

Geelong's big thing is they never put a player on the table if he hasn't requested a trade, so surely Tom could tell Sam to nominate us if he wants to play with his bro.

It pains me to say but there are ****all reasons I can think of for a player to want to play for St Kilda instead of Geelong.

I hope we hang onto Ro. Not just cos he's in my top three favourite players, but if he goes and there's a fairly serious pre-season injury to TDK we're going to be in a very tight spot for rucks.

I hope if RoMa leaves that Gubby is straight on the blower to Goldy.

Out of our new recruits, I am with stavro#4 --it is kind of unbelievable and equally exciting that Flyin Ryan is going to be in the RWB! I think he is also going to be a very good mentor for Lancey boy, as I can see him being a similar player longer term as Flyin.

My old man said the one that he is flabbergasted to see in our colours will be JSOS, because of the Silvagni name being such an institution at Carlton. He even remembers seeing Sergio play in the early 60s.

However, we are both in agreement that the heavy hitters will be Flanders and TDK. But jeez Flyin and JSOS will be immense if they stay fit!

I predict we won't lose to Geelong next year. I am bullish on us and think the Cats are going to go down the ladder.

Apart from Aleer, Ryan was the biggest query for me. Thought we had his position covered however I will enjoy watching him, Lanceyboy and NAZ sitting on heads next season

I hope JSOS has a magic run with injuries and gets to 100 games with us, then he has 5 sons and they all nom us as FS.

You underestimate the Dawg in Dodson. I imagine we'll still pick up a Preuss, Soldo, Goldstein or something like that. But if TDK goes down I'd love to see Dodson share the ruck duties with Keeler or someone else. Got generational talent written all over him.

There is no money freed up. The 2 swans earn more than Curnow combined.

And being better than the crap they are replacing in the side isn’t a huge win.

16th for inside 50 marks per inside 50

1st for uncontested marks

Fort averaged 1.9 marks per game. 22nd in the comp for ruckmen

Their two ruckmen spoon fed their mids in the GF against a team that didn't have a functioning one. No surprise the Cats want one.

Edmund usually is more trustworthy. I think Purple just assumes that Geelong want him, so Geelong get him based on previous history.
