I'd really want us to get a hold of Pies F1 with our pick 9...

Collingwood death ride thread will be 🔥

Absolutely.

They are one of this years top 8 that I can see taking a tumble next year.

A few scenarios.

I wonder if we swap one or both picks of our current 1st with another club's future firsts. Possibly X2. Swap one for Collingwood's F1st and the other with another club and go into next season with 4 first round picks and two future first round picks and an open salary cap?

Swap pick 9, 11 and 43 for Essendon's pick 27 and pick 5?

Swap 9, 11 and 43 for Richmond's 3 and 38?

I reckon we will be busy to turn them into something better and still land Dean and Ison. Just depends what we need to do that.

I think we trade with Essendon who only have room to take 3 picks.

We trade picks 9 & 11 for 6, 21 & 27
Take Josh Lindsay or Schubert with 6 & Dean with 21, Ison with 27.
Agree, glad to see someone else is thinking this way..

Just seems a logical way to maximise our chances of getting the best available with an early pick (6), then Dean and Ison with the remaining picks.

pick 21 = 721 points.

Dean would have to be bid on at pick 18 for that to work.

If we combine all our picks after doing that trade,

21 + 27 + 43 + 54

Factor in that some would come in a bit.

21 + 26 + 40 + 49 for example, that leaves us with: 1606

If a Dean bid comes in at 8 (ess 5 slides to 8) then we need: 1299

So we'd be left with: 307 +84 for the post pick 18 discount = 391 points left.

Enough to match an Ison bid at pick 33.

Could also factor in that if we did the deal with Essendon they wouldn’t be bidding on Dean.

That won’t land us Dean and Ison, not even close

We will do more with 9 and 11 than just cover Dean and ison

Either trade to pick up another decent player this year or get picks for next year
Plus another first round pick along with Dean, then Ison…
Depending on how much our other 1st pick slides, agree i don’t mind the idea of trading it out for a future first, if our targets are already taken…

How are the 'tiers' shaping up this year?

From what I have been reading, this year's tiers are

1-3 disappointing
4-8 weak
9-20 very weak
21-35 crappy
36-50 really crappy
51+ undraftable

Pretty sure..... ;)

Ideally we should try to obtain another 26 F1 but finding a trading partner is going to be very difficult. Expect we end up with taking another live first rounder this year plus matching bids for Dean and Ison. The question is can we manufacture a trade up for that pick to be ahead of a Dean bid as this could be the difference, if properly executed, of that additional first rounder being around pick 10 compared to pick 20.
