The answer to the question of Life, Universe and everything is 42

The question is 6 x 7

Wonder if we're one of the clubs.

Meanwhile, four clubs have inquired about Swans Academy graduate Caleb May, a 208cm ruckman, after an eye-catching finish to the SANFL season with West Adelaide.

The 20-year-old averaged 30 hit-outs (eight to advantage), 14 disposals, 12 contested possessions and kicked two goals in his last three games for the Bloods.

May was invited to the 2023 state combine.

You'd think that Cousens would have highlighted him.

Am I right in saying that we have 5 list spots available after upgrading Campbell and taking Retschko?

If so, we could take 4 players in the ND and 1 in the RD or 3 in the ND and 2 in the RD.

Leaves us with a little flexibility re Kellaway, if he's bid on after 37 then we match adding him to 3-4-37 and then have pick 2 in the RD. If he doesn't receive a bid then we take the 3 picks in the ND, take pick 2 in the RD then add him as the 2nd rookie.

Or, as usual, have I ****ed this up?

With the help of Ford Prefect, Arthur pulls random Scrabble tiles from a bag. When lined up, they spell out the question: "WHAT DO YOU GET IF YOU MULTIPLY SIX BY NINE?".

You get 54, which isn't the question to the answer to the question of Life, the universe and everything.

Nothing wrong with that scenario if there's a kid available the club rates.
14th-16th in the 2027 draft is picks 6,8 & 10 & thats without any academy kids going early.
Tassie also has to trade picks 5,7,11,& 13 so there's every chance we could get back in early anyway.
Agree. Its not a bad idea,But having said that it does limit us if we want to trade for someone like a Dobson.

Tassie have about 7 of the top-11 picks. Then there’s sure to be a host of father sons and academy’s (eg Bewick). So our FF1 could be anywhere from 8-20.

In 2028 Grjl would be in his third season. Our FF1 would likely not be helping us on field until 2029.

It’s completely different to North. They traded their future pick for a mid-20’s pick, on the back of losing their last 2 games of 2024 by a combined 200+ points.

Sure; we might finish bottom in 2027 and it’s a terrible deal if Grjl is a bust. But if he’s a very good player and we finish out of the bottom-3 it’s a great deal.

If you read the book, it's because the gilgafrinchans (?) sent a space ship full of losers (telephone sanitizers, collingwood supporters, etc) to space because "their world was about to be eaten by a giant space goat". The losers fell for it and crash landed on the giant supercomputer AKA earth, where their presence ****ed up the calculations to the "question". That's why it's 9 times 6 and not 7 times 6.

The gilgafrinchans planet was then eaten by a real giant space goat.

Based on my 0 seconds of vision on the entire draft class I think the draft plan is pretty simple.

#3 Robey because the hype factor is fun.

Then bid as much as possible because it's funny.

Then at like 8 or whatever take Grlj because I want to name my supercoach team Le Grjl.

Thanks Blair & Rhy

Makes sense from our side. Not sure we would get many bites though.

Third year is when a lot of kids really make a serious jump in their production. We will have 9 kids going into their 3rd season so could theoretically make a substantial jump that year.

The top 8 picks are held by teams needing to use them to rebuild. Pick 9 & 11, Carlton need to turn into points for Dean, Ison & Walker. Pick 10 Hawthorn probably the best bet with them looking to trade for players in the future so an extra asset being a Richmond F1 next year might be appealing when at the trade table.
