I've got some inside info but I have to put it into code of sorts as it's sensitive.

Ahem.....the bird (wink), is perched on the 'deck' (wink wink).

Also, like a rolling stone, he wants the red door painted black.

I'm not that smart.

Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Imagine if we'd taken Tauru instead of Smillie last year. We could take Grjl, Sharp or Cummins this year instead of a vanilla hbf in Taylor
Because nothing says "I dont know what the **** I'm talking about" like not even knowing players names.

I'm taking a sabbatical for a couple of days and will only be posting unconstructively. I'll defer to toenail63

Let's all eat cake

Talk about putting someone on the spot. I have no idea so can't verify other posters and I know 💩 about our plans this year.

We keep our cards close to our chest that's all I'll say, but the more posters with rumours to share the better. I would put a big ? mark on these happening that way on draft night though as plans can change last minute. Who predicted we trade for Retschko? Blair said himself we are changing strategy next year for trading so this poster is probably right that we sit back and wait for another Nth Melb type brain fade, otherwise we use 3 & 4.

With Robey personally would be great to get him, but we added that X factor last year with Lalor and Hotton, and if we pick Sharp then this helps our contested ball winning ability. I like the fact that Sharp has taken his coach's advice this year and worked on his outside and forward game to good effect.

BTW I voted for Robey and Sharp.

I also like Grlj in midfield mix for us, but if X Taylor, X brings similar movement, and if we pick him over Grlj we still get that injection of speed into the team.

You are really a "everyone is shit until they aren't" sort of fella aren't you?
He's kinda a 'glass half empty' sorta guy.....except he believes his cracked glass is better than everyone else's glass.

Also, he claims he was once a champion glass blower until he was knifed because of covid19, makes millions each year buying and selling glass, and if he bets you his glass and loses, he won't give you his glass.

For those who know (and everyone else who thinks they do) how does our young Tom Sims stack up against CDT?

Just thinking about Sims as legit cover for our ruck going forward.
i do not think they are competing for the same role, if anything, they could be complimentary

obviously not in the ruck the same time or other parts of the ground next to each other.

really they would be two ships in the night never seeing each other unless one kicks to another if in the same team. Ideally they would space each other away from each other at least a kick away

obviously both CDT Sims could not play in the ruck the same time, could not play in the forward line the same time, could not play in the backline the same time.

is it a Grundy/Gawn problem?? not necessarily because each has other roles so I think they can be effecitve at the same time but in different positions becuase each is more versatile and mobile than Gawn and Grundy

it probably would not happen but say CDT comes to Richmond. What do you do??

well CDT would have to develop for a bit and Nank is still playing. Sims seems more forward. so CDT would be naturally positioned more back defensively intially and players like Balta could go forward and possibly pinch hit ruck after the likes of Nank retire etc..

this might seem crazy to some, but I would look at a Faull FB position, see how that goes, Smillie half back, along with others and CDT plus one in defence and see how that develops with his pace, reach and ground ball.

it allows us to shift Gibcus forward at times, Balta elsewhere and see what happens, cause these players do not lack versatility, they are not sheep. it would be easier with a 5 person bench I suppose.

Assuming we only have CDT and Sims as recognised rucks in the team, when Nank departs eventually( i am not pushing him out the door), when one was one the bench resting the other could be roaming around and guys like Balta pinch hit at times when the contest is in hs vicinity. In theory with Balta, CDT and Sims you could play a unique three ruck set up where each has their own area(base zones) but obviously if Balta gets into a developing big boppa ruck contest, Sims or CDT gives him a chop out where they can
