Crimson Azure you could regale me with your thoughts on big Jimmy Stynes in a despicable act of post padding. Was he a good, average, gun player? Did he deserve his Brownlow that season?
Jim was amazing, well apart from running across the line and costing us a GF spot in '87.

To win the Brownlow 4 years after this is testament to his determination and character, as is his charity work and OAM. Add to that he did everything he could for the club he loved whilst fighting the cancer that eventually took him.

He played over 240 consecutive game even with a broken hand. He was a running machine which other ruck couldn't keep up with. 2 x AA, 4 x B&F, 10 games for the Vics says everything you need to know about his ability.

Loved Dublin's Jim.

Yeah, and you paid money to some American for it. Bet Donald Trump is laughing in his toupe.
He probably upgraded to the deluxe toupee based solely on Cadsky's purchase.

What's your going rate?

And will I be expected to get caught in some sordid activity to boost my exposure?
Only fans Tik Tok YT and Snapchat for the racier stuff

Well that's what I had to do

That was the greatest point of his career. I loved it.

We wouldn’t have beaten that Blues team just like the hawks.
Both teams had burnt everything they had slugging it out against each other. Hawthorn going against the wind for three of four quarters burnt so much energy. Still, I enjoyed being at the game.

I didn’t, stealing defeat from the jaws of victory is such a Melbourne thing to do.

In a car on the way back from Victor with the footy on the radio and we had to stop for the last tense few minutes and the roar from the Hawks fans ( pre-AFL) was loud

The wind was insane. Greg Healy kicked a 65 metre kick in the first ten seconds, Chris Mew kicked it back and the ball started going backwards while it was still in the air.

At quarter time it swung around and went the other way then at half time swung around again.

Google's AI has this to say about the wind

The "1987 prelim wind" refers to the 1987 VFL Preliminary Final between Hawthorn and Melbourne, where a significant wind played a crucial role in the game's outcome. The wind swung to favour Melbourne for the first three quarters, giving them a 22-point lead, but then shifted in the final quarter, allowing Hawthorn to mount a comeback and win the game with a goal after the siren. "

The Demon wiki also acknowledges Melbourne having three quarters with the wind. http://demonwiki.org/Preliminary+Final+1987

It was a monumental effort by Hawthorn to come out on top. Of course, it also allowed the 7 consecutive grand finals streak to become a thing.

Only two more nights. You're gonna miss out.

Are you geting rain up there over the next few days or is it just SoCal?
Its raining today and we're supposed to be doing a building site tour today so we'll so how that plays out.

My rage roar was also loud.
Kind of wish I hadn't asked you that question now.

First time I went to the States I flew into LA. Almost flew home again. Fortunately I ended up loving a lot of other places. New York, San Fran, Cincinnati, Boston, New Orleans
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh were all great

Wouldn't go there while the orange man is in power though.

Maídín maith mo chairde. Good morning/good evening comrades.

Firstly, after seeing Crimmy's post, I had to do a double check it was Thursday as I'm more dopier than normal due to, I think, having Covid '25.

Likewise El Capitanio Robertio some feedback on Setanta O'hÀilpìn's time at the Blues. We seen him kick that guy in the knackers during training, but never got the full story why.

To the Adelaide boys; is your club a bunch of penny pinchers? Would think you should either relieve Keano of all media duties or pay for a translator as I have no idea what he does be saying, & can't fathom how much you understand him.

And always remember, for the match on Sunday, just kick the ball to Brentos Brenton Davy & he'll take care of the rest.
Jinny Stynes definitely deserved his Brownlow and i was a fan of Setanta they just couldn't find his right position but without a doubt the best Irish player we had at Carlton was Ciaran Byrne he just couldn't adapt to the Melbourne lifestyle.
