I trust the club’s assessment that he is best available at our pick. I’d much prefer that strategy than reaching for a midfielder who is plugging a gap that may not have the attributes. He sounds like the kind of player we are attracted too.

Like everyone, I am caught up in the excitement about next week. Unlike many, I'm happy to say that I know very little about the players and am happy to put my faith in our recruiting team. And whoever we pick, I will throw my support behind emphatically.

Here is my issue, though: I have just arrived in Bali for a little 9-night pre-'smash out the end of the year' break. I just tried Kayo and like the betting apps, it isn't available in my location.

Any idea how I could watch the draft otherwise?

Cut it too a 6 nighta

May just end up trading entirely out of this draft into next years and fill our current list spots with delisted free agents

I'm pretty sure they stream it live on the AFL website. I've watched it there before. Not sure if it's different this year though

There are no elite AFL mids in this draft. None, zero. That's a major reason it's considered such a weak draft.

Everyone parrots "best available" then next breath says "we have to take mids".

Give me an elite flanker over a B-grade mid.

Thats my concern about focusing on an elite mid because we have the nominal 2-3 picks. We are only getting the 5-6 best talent. Firmly in the range to try something different.

For a supposed weak draft, there's not that much difference between the top 6 or so:
WCE - Duursma & CDT
Tiges - Robey & XTaylor
Ess - Sharp & Cumming

Think all 3 of those teams would be very happy with what they get.

I think grill is in the top 6 (especially after testing) and then a gap with Taylor maybe 7th.

For mine Dursma, CDT and Robey are tier 1 and then Sharp, cumming, Taylor, Grlj are tier 2.
