We get very very tight on list spots if make trade pick 2 by itself for 2 picks. Would be left unable to match bids if bids came later for more than one of our NGA/Father Sons. The fact this board could see it coming a mile away and yet the club didn't resolve it when there was an easy solution with Cripps going to the rookie list is negligence.

Not saying we wouldn't do it because top end talent >>>>>> mid draft talent, but you'd have to be prepared for a Banfield running around for some team you hate.

crap idea. crap trade. means NGA's can be matched.

cal is an Essendon fan, so he is pushing their narrative. you can't make that trade on hope those players are there. what if they aren't?

people seem to have convinced themselves that in reality, clubs think sharp is no.2 but are forced to pick this weaker player in CDT. so they have to trade down, just to get this superior player and not miss out.

Maybe if Essendon offer 5 and future 1st. Any movement for 2 needs to include future 1st I reckon.

I think a lot depends at this point on who Richmond will take.

If Essendon want CDT, I'm not sure we're doing that now.

If Essendon want Robey and Richmond are prepared to take CDT, I don't think we do that either.

If Essendon want Robey and Richmond are set on their plans and we can get CDT at 5, I think we'd take it, though I would want Sharp with that second pick.

These comments by Duursma appear to confirm that he has been playing predominantly in defence, not as a mid, and that initially he was frustrated by that but then accepted it.

He got taken out of the midfield because clubs wanted to see his versatility.

Goddard was a top ~10/15 player in the comp for 5+ years at his peak. The idea that you'd be upset if a pick 1 was "only" as good as Goodard is silly. Was an awesome player.

His performance in the drawn GF in 2010 was epic.

I'm not watching and It's rather gloomy day. Even more gloomy then last preseason where we ended up with 1 win.

The club I know and love has jumped the shark today.

Rolling out the morose disposition early, I didn't expect it but it's a lovely tact.
Let the steam build over the course of the day, look resentfully at some puppies etc. The viscera start to churn.
You are going to me primed for the coverage. About 4PM the invective juices start to flow - every Twomey pun a ticking of the doomsday clock. Blood vessels in the eyes, veins in the temple, a furious sweat. Lashing out online and into the cosmos. A hatred for the Gods. A few short hours later as they think about anouncing pick 1, silence. The calm before the storm. A thousand mile stare, maybe the occasional soft whimper. Duursma, whatever, nothing moves you. A deep internal bracing against the weight of eons. Time collapses, only a heartbeat, that golden conviction, thrumming for just one man. The dagger of fate, the blade at the jugular - it has to be Sharp.

Maybe the club rates the top 10 prospect way higher than any of the club tied prospects. Maybe it’s all just pie in the sky, we will find out soon enough.
