So well done by player and club. West has three years ahead. The journey should be fun. The club has locked him in early. Now down to 13 unsigned players for the end of 2026. The list is appearing very stable.

I think they will all exceed expectations
West was ticking along nicely in the VFL last season before injury curtailed him. He was up the pointy end for goals per game and contested marks per game. And he was still a kid. Plenty to get excited about if he continues to develop.

Yeah, even if he doesn't kick on, there was no chance that Charlie West was going to get less than 4 years.
I’ve been wrong plenty. I was bullish on Macrae early, Steene looked good early but has plateaued a bit. But I’ve just loved Westy contested stuff in his first year. Not reliant on leading etc. marking in packs at 18 is a good sign.

To me just seems an all round natural footballer, whethether in contest situations, on the lead, goal kicking and even in open play.
