Allan isn’t nearly as poor as the media hunt would suggest. She’s actually going ok. Understandably people are fatigued with the alp and if Wilson proves to be ok and the libs don’t stuff it up again, who knows. We will see.

Maybe. Modern voting is throwing curveballs in now so it's no guarantee people not voting Labor are going to the LNP side of things.it does mean that if the Vic LNP can appear competent and sane that they should win
6% undecided. The voters have made up their mind about the Premier. It's not the variable at the election.

Dan Andrews was a very savvy and ruthless politician who would have thrown his mother under a bus if it helped him politically. Jacinta Allan is nowhere near as savvy as Andrews.Supposedly this is a single point above the worst ever favourability ratings for a Premier (Cain/Bligh)
I thought she might yet get a bump from Metro Tunnel, but it's very much into the territory that that negativity calcifies.
I'm surprised well Dan's popularity held-up until the end, and how quickly Allan's has cratered afterward. With the same policy program.

Considering the ever shrinking grip "teh media" is having on the electorate, it is possible that swinging voters may abandon Labor without any real influence from the media. They've been in power for 11 years and have seen a lot of ministers retire. There would be a conventionality to them losing next year. This poll would make sense had there been 1 Opposition leader since the election, the fact they have had 3 different ones suggests to me that logic has gone out the window with people and there going on emotions and feelings now. Pretty much the MAGA crew. Not suggesting voters who don't want to vote Labor are far right but you usually need to see a platform from Wilson first before deciding if she's the right choice. There will be issues that come up between now and the election which will make or break her chances as wel. If she gives wishy washy half arsed solutions and still the poll doesn't change than its clearly an anti Labor agenda at play from the media.
The ALP certainly seem to have run out of money and ideas. But they do have two mega projects opening in the year leading into the election.Considering the ever shrinking grip "teh media" is having on the electorate, it is possible that swinging voters may abandon Labor without any real influence from the media. The Melbourne Metro will be a win for them and rightly so. The West Gate Tunnel, if it is to provide any political win for them, will be in people from the west no longer having to drive through roadwork which they have been doing for near on a decade. The project is not a good one and was given the green light for the wrong reasons. The ALP certainly seem to have run out of money and ideas. Dan was much better at lying and blaming others and the scope of his failures wouldn't be felt for several years. Libs acting like cookers during a health crisis helped him tooSupposedly this is a single point above the worst ever favourability ratings for a Premier (Cain/Bligh)

It's a neither here nor there project IMO, over time people won't notice drastic changes to their commute. Unlike NEL or MRRT which is where the big wins should come from. That and more crossing removals. The Melbourne Metro will be a win for them and rightly so. That's generally where the visceral hatred lies with Andrews the handling of COVID and the cooker vote.Dan was much better at lying and blaming others and the scope of his failures wouldn't be felt for several years. Libs acting like cookers during a health crisis helped him too
It was weird, it was the wrong way around. he was negligent and potentially corrupt in his initial management of covid and arguably has blood on his hands (like scummo) but isn't blamed for that- is hated for generally doing the right thing after his initial failures. That's generally where the visceral hatred lies with Andrews the handling of COVID and the cooker vote.
Or anything to benefit the people or the state for that matter.Asked the most important issue, 42% selected law and order, 23% housing, 16% state debt and 14% hospitals.
right or wrong, it’s perceived she’s not doing enough with crime.
Building infrastructure is pretty beneficial.Or anything to benefit the people or the state for that matter.
Not necessarily true after you consider the cost.Building infrastructure is pretty beneficial.
I mean, it's a mistake, right? No one in their right mind would knowingly decide to charge people $5 to walk through two train stations just to get to a shopping centre.Just the thought of pedestrian tollways shows you just how much contempt she has for us all down here in "macheteville" Of course she has had to do a backflip, but the absolute gall of the idea is astounding!
As opposed to doing nothing? You would have the same complaints we had for years around infrastructure from the same people if we meandered along the same trajectory. Maybe that's ok for some people but not me. Cost is irrelevant to me it's the long term benefits that matter. What happens if we had cost blowouts building hospitals? Schools? Prisons to house all the people we are going to start locking up soon? Should we not do it because of cost blowouts? You would never have anything happen anywhere. Not necessarily true after you consider the cost.

Honestly mate go hide under the bed if your that scared of Victoria and going out in public. Better yet leave we don't need your ilk down here spreading fear.Just the thought of pedestrian tollways shows you just how much contempt she has for us all down here in "macheteville" Of course she has had to do a backflip, but the absolute gall of the idea is astounding!
Maybe I should reword what I wrote. If the blowout is Justified. Not unnecessary waste and that's really up to different people what they classify as unnecessary waste isn't it? Remember federally the Liberal party think handouts is unnecessary waste"The real cost is to do nothing"
Heard by construction companies as
"We will give you whatever you want, keep ratcheting up the price"
Everything has a value. Taxpayer's money shouldn't be so blithely thrown around like the cost of anything that might be deemed important is irrelevant as long as it gets built.
