Playing Tombstones Final at Dunes tomorrow. Stroke off the tips, top 32 in Order of Merit got an invite. Playing with a group of low single figure hcps….should be able to drag them down to my level.
Just praying the wind eases off or it could get real ugly. If I can break 90 off the stick I’ll be in with a chance to win it….have a feeling I may raise the bat though.

Raised the bat today.
Played really well tee to green, only 2 fairways missed but short game was absolute puss.
Was so deep in a couple of bunkers I came across a few Egyptian artifacts.

Yes and no re metro. have seen puddles on greens and yet seen it bone dry a few hours later on a different day with rain. but overall yes drains very well.

I tend to stick to Royal Cheltenham (for 9 with my mates at 7am on a Sunday) and yeah never seen it wet/muddy in 8 years since I moved down here. On the wait list for Vic.

Yeah, like every course.

Warm up should be no more than 5 chips, 2 w 56, 2 w 60 off big toe on back foot (hands forward helps w contact), 1 practice flop... followed by "around the world", place 2 balls 4ft from the hole at each compass point and only move to the next stage once you've made both consecutively.

Do this and you'll improve.

I was a 2hc prior to my accident/cancer, now I'm a ~12hc. Not bad considering it was my 2nd sport. I do love telling my mates they were just out driven by someone who qualifies for all-abilities lol (I don't say it that nicely tho)

Hit 3w, driving iron off tee... put the big dog back in its kennel. Reverse engineer each hole, work out where you want to be for your 2nd at the optimal distance where you can get some/any spin. You need to use a slightly softer ball there as the greens are not receptive.

The "around the world" putting is what you (everyone) needs, start counting your putts and be pissed off if you take more than 30 in a round.

I did shoot 67 at the composite once, so it kinda works.

You're probably right if you're no good, though. Can understand how that would **** with your head if you're a little bit yippy with putting/chipping. I'm not.
