Multiplat Baldur's Gate III

Righto, had been forever since i got lost in an RPG and thought id give this a run as it had the free 2 hour trial on PS+, and the reviews were so good...

Which is all well and good, except i spent 45ish minutes of it creating my character
Then i completed the first part, felt a bit overwhelmed, i sped past Commander Zhalk to push the button, then saw a clip that says you can shout at him and pick up his weapon, which works well with my Paladin, luckily i saved, so back i go. Goodbye 2 hours lol.

Backtracked all through this thread, so thanks to those who posted little tricks and tidbits, decided to pull the trigger and buy it.

Saw a clip that you can smash into Dank Crypt... but kept getting owned.... Realised if i explored a bit more i would recruit the other 2 allies... Load an old save again and eventually cleared it

This is tricky on PS5, with the multiple action wheels and no HUD down the bottom of the screen, very daunting. Diablo 4 did this really well.

Glad you stuck through it! Happy to offer non-spoiler advice if you need it. The games picks up once you get some more companions and get to level 3 or so. Best thing you can do is just explore and if you have an idea on how to do a fight or quest: try it. You'd be surprised at how you can be rewarded for creativity.

Also props for using a controller. I couldn't do it, mouse and keyboard all the way

Thanks ledge, think i'm about 6 hours in, just walked into the emerald grove camp.

Controller suuuuucks lol. I've tried hooking up the mouse before but i think the console is too far away for it to bluetooth.

Half of the experience of this game is reloading and doing things differently after you **** something up massively (eg. losing Gale forever).

Sometimes you just need to live with a crappy outcome and keep moving on.

I just need another BG3 type adventure ASAP.

Have you tried an honour mode run yet?

Ok, first stupid question. When i target an enemy, and it says Advantage or Disadvantage.... Does that mean i have the "Advantage" or they do?

And if i have the "Advantage" it rolls 2 "Dice" and takes the higher score? Is that correct?

If you have advantage: you roll 2 dice and take the higher score
If you have disadvantage: you roll 2 dice and take the lower score

The Hit % you see accounts for Dis/Advantage

You can get either from a multitude of ways. An easy example is if you try to shoot someone with an arrow but are from lower ground, you will have disadvantage. But if you have the high ground, you will have advantage. Some actions or class skills only work when you have advantage such as a Rogue's sneak attack

Needed some extra gold so just sold all my clothes, thinking it was silly as im wearing armour.....

Cue Long rest and Astarion is trying to drain my blood, there i am.... Wang out in the cutscene
