There won’t be a SGM now from what I’m told.
Reason being?
Surely it wasn't all pi$$ and wind and in fact your clubs have actually been totally cool and happy all along?
Talk about an anti climax ....

Hearing there will be still be an SGM, however some clubs have communicated they will vote against the motion to remove Carol. Sandhurst, Strathfieldsaye, Castlemaine and Broadford
Surely the clubs are focussed on working with the league to transition out of the AFL CV Hub rather than culling the board. This strategy and this phase is probably the most important time the league has faced and is a massive opportunity to renew and revitalise. This can be done with the current board in place as long as they set about appointing a GM of BFNL as a priority. The second thing the league presidents need to do is decline the offer of guidance from AFL Victoria through all of this. Their "expertise" doesnt carry a glowing review.

Theres alot of rumblings around the state suggesting that if the closure of RAC’s don’t see a major reduction if not complete removal of AFL Vic involvement in community footy then leagues will walk away / force their hand .
Interestingly a full day meeting has been called of all leagues , RGM’s , Chairpersons etc etc for 22nd February .
Concern from some is that it’s been called by the person they hold to blame for the current state of community footy particularly given their involvement in attempting to make Admin with RAC’s mandatory and theIr overarching involvement in the development and running of the failed CCSP .
Will it be a last ditch effort to stake claim / control of community footy or acceptance the AFL’s overarching of community footy isn’t wanted ??

I understand there is support for the board, but a strong desire to change the leadership of it and move on the influence of the past/current Chair in search of renewal and freshness. As with any good organisational governance. It seems that there is a real fear of change among some of the clubs though. Even though the same clubs complain about the state of the league, they seem to be passing up their big chance for refreshment. If this SGM is defeated as it looks like it will be, it will send a message to any future clubs or groups of concerned agitators for change, that half the clubs are just too hard to collaborate with for strategic change. The definition of insantity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result

The Castlemaine mob on hear claim to be know it alls yet don’t seem to be in line with their own club. Let’s see who they blame now

Square against as well I've heard.

4 clubs pushing an SGM they know they cant win is bizarre.

Gisborne and Eaglehawk have genuine grievances that need addressing.

Whats Flat and Souths problem? According to those on here South have been well looked after so why are they upset?

Maybe there is uncertainty as into what the cause of the leagues current state . With clubs major concern being a desire to move away from RAC administration which they were prepared to oust the board to achieve .
With the closure of RAC’s announcement their greatest concern may well now be diminished .

The appointment of a GM is crucial. Strong strategic leadership and an appetite for some risk and a big change from clubs

Crazy is right again ………
Caz survives and will again lead the board because who else would do it
Strath shit the bed must have been promised finals or something behind the scenes. Gizzy have to stay in a comp they are desperate to leave and maiden gully come in for a blockbuster against Broadford ! Seriously this couldn’t be made up - the death of the comp is not that far away

While we agree on many things Crazy, you've been predicting the death of the league and fall of the board for as long as I've been on here.

Now, when push comes to shove, it appears even your own club doesnt share the views you hold.

Maybe time to give up the death riding.

Broadford would've been mad to go against.

FWIW plenty of local sporting groups run with the same executive set-ups, coaches etc for long periods which can then make it extremely difficult and counter productive for incumbents or the "next wave" to proceed productively or positively.

We've all heard the old ... that's how we've always done it.

Either way, the fact discussions and concerns have led to this topic reaching to point of such consideration must mean that some form of tweak to the current make-up, and/or roles within may still be explored yeh?

Any conversation, meeting or forum is a chance to learn something, so hopefully clubs still have a voice regardless if those voices ever get heard, listened to or even considered.

I’d hold that thought in the view of Crazy’s club. My mail is the support of Caz was coming from one person at Maine, and it wasn’t in line with the wider clubs view. That person is either no longer involved with the club, or if not yet, will very soon be no longer involved.
