Got the tree up the other day. This is our second Christmas in our house, so I’m trying different locations each year. I won’t be putting it near the patio doors again. The insane Australian winds keep blowing the strands of tinsel off, and I have to go around picking them up and replacing them. The tree has the wind-blown look.

You need to go sans tinsel. We started that once the kids were around and never looked back. The tinsel can always go elsewhere, too!

I have Friday off so today is basically Friday, except for being Thursday obviously but brings with it a kind of phenomenon where it feels like a Friday. I wonder what Friday will feel like?

It's also day one of the test match, which used to start on a Friday. The only difference I can tell is that I won't be quaffing today but there's a high likelihood that I will be tomorrow.
