Simple answer. Almost No one.To ask a simple question - who asked for this? Which voting bloc by age, religion, political leaning - whatever, actually asked for this? Who if it were put to a referendum tomorrow would vote for increasing the Muslim population to 5% or 10%? Say what you want about good Muslims, peaceful Muslims etc. but the problems in the West always stem from the same source which is pretending that demographics don't matter. Western democracy has failed for decades now.
No you aren't reading it right.
He got his Gun Licence in 2023. Who was the PM in 2023?
I'm not necessarily blaming anyone, but trying to shirk this solely onto the libs is just laughable and those trying too better be very careful with their facts, unless they want to be called out.
People need to be very careful attributing blame, until all the info comes out.
At the presser the other night one of the officers was saying it was 2015 the father got the license.
Or are you talking about the son?

for who? only people who abide by laws. if somebody is determined to kill people they're going to source a gun or make one or build bombs or turn a truck into a moving weapon or set fire to buildings. between port arthur and bondi the largest mass murder event was committed with a few dollars worth of petrol. They may not care, but it makes things more difficult, that's the point.
???people have made guns in prison on solitary confinement
the Police have corrected it since.
The son doesn't have a gun licence, the dad did.
The dad tried to get a licence in 2015, and didn't put a photo on it, so it lapsed and was not issued. He tried again in 2019, same thing occured.
he only got the licence in 2023.
this is exactly why everyone needs to stfu and wait for the info to come out, before they start blaming people.
do you know what "made" means????
Not sure what this means. Have people gotten guns in prison during solitary, or applied for gun licences whilst in solitary?
It'd strain credulity though, either way.
Not seeing a solution stated here.Step 1. Acknowledge the problem. That's the simple part. You can't solve most problems overnight, but good luck solving any by pretending they don't exist. Even if you change the gun laws that will take months if not years to come into effect. It's a medium to long term play.
If you (royal) aren't prepared to acknowledge the problem then anything else is pointless. Tighten already strict gun laws. Talk tough on antisemitism and right wing extremism. Window dressing. If you are, then welcome to where it stops being easy.
Australia determines its own immigration policies. We're not part of the EU, we have no land borders. As we saw during covid we can have no arrivals of any kind from anywhere if we want.
Australia determines its own internal laws and policies. We already have hate speech laws, banned symbols etc. We can be "tough on <insert thing>" if we want to be.
When I was born the Muslim population of Australia was around 0.5%. When I finished school it was 1.5%. Now it's around 3-3.5%. In another 20 years it will most likely be 5%+. For reference it's 6% in the UK, 10% in France. 8-10% in Sweden, 5% in Denmark, 6% in the Netherlands... whose lead are we going to follow?
To ask a simple question - who asked for this? Which voting bloc by age, religion, political leaning - whatever, actually asked for this? Makes you wonder if he had got it earlier was he always planning something like this regardless of what's been happening abroad
But it will be harder than walking into a gun shop.for who? only people who abide by laws. if somebody is determined to kill people they're going to source a gun or make one or build bombs or turn a truck into a moving weapon or set fire to buildings. between port arthur and bondi the largest mass murder event was committed with a few dollars worth of petrol.
So, just to clarify. This attack on Jews, by Muslim terrorists presumably targeted at Jews specifically because of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, was nothing like the attack on Muslims (in two different mosques that he drove between) by a Christian man who was upset that the Muslims were replacing white Christians in the western world?
How is it that when a Muslim does something to Jews in a religious setting, it's because of their religion.
But when a Christian does something to Muslims in a religious setting, it's nothing to do with their religion?
I think many Muslims think the same, that these murders were not religious, as many Christians think Christchurch wasn't religious. But both absolutely are.
Was warned countless times but prioritised votes in Western Sydney over keeping citizens safe.
This is a shit opinion. We do NOT need an intifada playing out where our kids go to play at the beach ffs. It is dishonest and hateful of you to not acknowledge the part immigration has played in this disaster.
How exactly? We do NOT need an intifada playing out where our kids go to play at the beach ffs. It is dishonest and hateful of you to not acknowledge the part immigration has played in this disaster.
How?people have made guns in prison on solitary confinement
This is a shit opinion.
You won't engage with anyone on this, you will just repeat shit opinions that promote hate, fear and division.
I'm replying to you, which promotes your shit opinion to any few who didn't see it.
I'm engaging with your shit opinion, which implies that it's a position rather than just a opinion.
Someone may reply to this, with some shit tangent that seems to support or justify your shit opinion.
The point is that you are an aspect of radicalisation that leads to harm.
I can only use the tools available to me. I can only worry about the things that I can impact.
Deservedly criticised. Australian gun owners are being targetted because the government was irresponsible enough to give citizenship and gun licenses to Islamic terrorists.
the Police have corrected it since.
The son doesn't have a gun licence, the dad did.
The dad tried to get a licence in 2015, and didn't put a photo on it, so it lapsed and was not issued. He tried again in 2019, same thing occured.
he only got the licence in 2023. When Albo was the PM.
this is exactly why everyone needs to stfu and wait for the info to come out, before they start blaming people.
You'd think that would set off some alarm bells travelling to the south of the Philippines.i suspect that will come out soon enough
we already know its coming to light they traveled to the south of the phillipines where its a known terror playground prior to the attack
lets the cops do their jobs, just stop blaming people or making this political point scoring until you know all the facts is what im saying.
What's the problem? What's the solution? If you can't describe the problem how on earth do you expect to fix it?
What do you think the root cause of this problem is and what are your proposals to fix it?
Sunday showed that we CANNOT keep going down the trajectory we are currently on. Can you at least acknowledge that?
And point out that when Israeli politicians conflate the two they create problems for the diaspora by associating them with the war crimes of Israel.I would love to see Albanese - at an appropriate time in a week or so - respond to Netanyahu and call him out. It’s time someone did so in a strong and measured way.
He is an elected leader of a sovereign state. No reasonable person condones what Hamas, a non-state actor, did on Oct 7. Why should some of the subsequent actions of a Sovereign State be condoned when they were no better? Those actions were not just about Hamas they went beyond that and targeted the Palestinian people in retribution for Hamas.
Albo should stand up and point out a few home truths and declare that some of the actions of him as leader of the sovereign state of Israel were no better and in some cases worse, than the actions of a non-state actor in Hamas. Albo should also make the distinction between the state of Israel and Judaism and the two should not be conflated.
If i wanted a gun right now , getting a permit and buying one in a shop would be the easiest way.
Otherwise i'd have to start asking round people i thought might be dodgy, or downloading plans and stuff.
