Watched Weapons last night. Pretty decent horror flick.

People who have seen it will know.

For those film buffs that have an affinity for old films ....I can highly recommend the movie "Trumbo" starring Bryan Cranston

Great to see films, not reliant on CGI ....but a really strong story

So much of my musical taste has been influenced by Movies ......Rachmaninoff with his music scores of the 40's and 50's .......Hans Zimmer, the modern day genius ....and of course Ennio Morricone of "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" and "Once Upon A Time In The West"

The latter, one of William Holden's few movies where he was the villain

IMO still one of the best James Bond music themes

One battle after another?

Just sat in a cinema by myself and watched this. Had no idea what it was about. Kinda seemed like another lefty movie about oppressive government, but turned out to be really good. I'm sure it would have been made before trumps ICE deportation movement, so it was kind of odd to watch how some things seemed to have played out like the film.

Di Caprio kind of takes his character from once upon a time in Hollywood. A likeable loser. He has some pretty hilarious moments. He has an amazing catalogue! Would recommend. I'm interested to see what some conservatives think about it.

I managed to watch Nuremberg. Disappointed to tell you honestly. A poor selection of cast and a poor script. Russel Crowe as Goering. At least he didn't have to fatten himself for the part.

Many pundits have been saying it's Russel Crowe's best performance in years

OK went & watched "now you see me, now you don't"

Saw it at the pictures, which I haven't been to in a while ......AND, I walked out of the movie half way thru

1. The movie is crap ....the actors disinterested, and it appears they're reading from a Teleprompter
2. If these Directors want to continue using "natural" light which impacts contrast ....no-one's going to a theatre ....the screens are mediocre in size, and I swear, the movie would look better on my home TV than in that theatre

This is where the theatre owners have stuffed up in their battle with streaming
Admittedly, it's a long time ago, but the screens were twice the size they currently are .....theatre owners got greedy, by putting 8 x smaller theatres into a complex, where there would have been 2 x large, and 1 x smaller theatres, to maximise flow thru of theatre goers when at its peak .....fast-forward, and there's no WOW factor in watching a movie in a theatre now

Fix that, or you are dead in the water theatre owners

Maybe putting weight on to play the part. ;)
I think he's said he lost a huge amount of weight recently .....I assume for the Nuremberg Movie

I haven't seen it, but my wife did. She gave it a :thumbsu:. In fairness, I had her watch the previous 2 to get a feel for the movie.

I enjoyed the previous two movies .....so the 3rd had me interested, unfortunately with most sequels, they tend to slide performatively, the more you have

My Best Movies of 2025 (so far) .... just from the movies I've seen

1. Sinners
2. Wake Up Dead Man
3. The Phoenician Scheme
4. F1: The Movie
5. The Companion
6. Fight or Flight
7. The Gorge
8. Bring Her Back
9. The Conjuring: Last Rites
10. How to Train Your Dragon

Special mentions: Bugonia

This will get people back to theatres .....it's what's desperately needed ....current small theatre setups are not much better than home theatres

But who would foot the huge setup costs ..... it was illegal for studios to own theatres, but this has recently been reversed .....the future is in the studio's hands
