Probably one of the more insightful comments you’ve made , I think you’re right
I had this friend, from an intergenerational family of colonwood supporters, who lived behind the cotchin family in preston I think it was, when he was just a little dark haired kid kicking the footy around all day. But years later she couldn't seem to bring herself to feel any "joy" for him at all, with his miraculous story of 3 premierships after 37 years in the doldrums. During which we almost NEVER beat colonwood. So yes, that's been my experience too.

I've watched Cotchin closely for many years now, looking for inconsistencies with his "nice guy" image and his actions. I particularly liked his response to Sam Newman when asked about why he accepted the tainted brownlow. It's no surprise to me that he's now been involved with the team that's won the last 2 premierships. And that that clubs leadership recognised the value of having him involved with their playing group. Emma Murray said the same about his presence in this interview.

Most coll fans are campaigners tho , the genesis of scurrilous rumors all aimed to cast shade on our great club , they can’t be happy that we re happy and refuse to accept that our dynasty ever happened. It’s no reflection at all on cotch it’s a reflection on the scumbags that they are

Cotchin and Mitchell's brownlow "controversy" is the most overblown shit of all time. Essendon developed an illicit drugs program, their captain was juiced all season, and then they all got suspended.

It'd be like the guy that came second in the Tour de France declining the overall win, even though the guy that came first was juiced through the eyeballs and got caught.

Cotch and Mitchell were rightful joint winners.

Having said that, I think Jobe maybe deserved his Brownlow. Just that Essendon didn't deserve a Brownlow winner.

And on that topic, how interesting would a Jobe episode be with Shaped.

I loved the Pete burge interview

Really showed how he got the program going for performance and simplicity in the training regime
he should get louie on

Are you being serious?

Does "anyone" actually watch these Trent Cotchin "Shaped" episodes?

I reckon he actually gets the misnomer called "mindfulness".
But almost no one else seems to.
I remain convinced, that our embracing of it, by enough campaigners, was probably the difference between us getting 3 premierships...as opposed to not (dusty impact included).

Yes. For all of the goings on at Essendon with Jobe, it'd be an interesting insight into him as a person, not just the footballer.

The most overblown shit because the AFL + ASADA + WADA as a collective were too soft and gutless to address it properly from the get go.

Also, I rarely hear anyone complain about Mitchell's brownlow. Only Cotchin's.

Nope, he was found guilty of drug cheating. All of them were.

The whining about 'guilt beyond doubt' from Dons fans is pathetic. This isn't a death sentence and the body of evidence supports the likelihood, hence the guilty verdict.

So red handed or not they are cheats.

I have always found it hilarious that EFC didn't 'keep records' of their supplements program as well lmao. I mean...if it worked, how would you even know how to replicate the success if it was legal and effective? That's how you know the club destroyed the evidence and tried to bury it, and the slimy AFL tried to help them with a pissy fine and the 'direpute' law etc.

Yeah I'm not really here to argue about what was right or wrong in the whole situation.

My point was that it would be an interesting episode with a different perspective than what we've heard through mainstream media for so long, and Trent would have a pretty insightful conversation with Jobe, due to the nature of them being awarded the medal and stripped of it.

All that aside, it'd be interesting about Jobe the person, not Jobe 'the stripped Brownlow medallist.;

Right, gotcha.

Look I liked Jobe. Seemed a nice dude, gun player for sure etc.

But that year in question is utterly tainted. He was in brownlow form we can agree but not in a 'fairest' way.
