One is overrated and not very good and the other is NOT KP.We dont need to spend huge $ or draft capital to fill the KPF void, a Joel Armatey or Buku Khamis would fill this void whilst still allowing us to target top end talent like Zac Butters.
News incoming ???
Kemp's injury on top of the Charlie/Harry stuff didn't help either! For me, the biggest factors were:
1. Jagga injury
2. Charlie playing like a pussy (wanting out).
3. TDK playing like a pussy (once he decided he was out...)
4. Harry's issues...
5. Voss' poor coaching.
All in no particular order.

Is there something that Ferris can steal and post on the rumour board?

Agree.No rumour … just a fact.
Despite being a gun player, Zac Butters is just the wrong play for Carlton for a number of reasons.
People need to do themselves a favour and head into the new year with this nonsense behind them …
He would be nice for us, but do we need him badly enough to pay the (ridiculous) price? I'm not sure he would be worth it. Better to get Cody Walker and look for someone else to draft with pace.Agree.
I’ve said this before he’s all but stitched up at the dogs. Treloar is last year as well and Libba nearly done. They've been at him since 2024.
I think we need to see how this season goes, jagga is a great inclusion, young but very promising and professional by the sounds of it, plus new recruits, new style, new mixing of positions and pinch hitting/rotations, well have a better idea at seasons end, festive seasonly optimistic and excited for next season as a lot of us areHe would be nice for us, but do we need him badly enough to pay the (ridiculous) price? We've had a slow but steady midfield for quite a while. It will be very different with Jagga and Cody in it. That doesn't mean we can't look for another player who bursts out of the centre, one who doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Indeed. With the changes in coaching staff, our midfield will be different, even without Jagga. Hopefully, it will work better than in 2025.I think we need to see how this season goes, jagga is a great inclusion, young but very promising and professional by the sounds of it, plus new recruits, new style, new mixing of positions and pinch hitting/rotations, well have a better idea at seasons end, festive seasonly optimistic and excited for next season as a lot of us are
Also agree. Another thing we need to get out of our culture is the War-Chest mentality where we go out and pay massive overs for players (some guns, others over-hype) rather than target young players and develop them ourselves. No rumour … just a fact.

Only Hewett had a career best year. Maybe Frankie late on as well. 2 players at most. Lots of upside in 2026. Weitering was absolutely atrocious at times.no midfield a bigger issue with Crippa and Walsh largely wounded, Cerra moving like a snail, no Smith, Acres had a shocker... - George the only one who held up his side of the bargain frankly.
I think we have MUCH to look forward to - if we had more wise heads R1 2025 (think Ainsworth, Florent, Hayward...) we would not have capitulated... and the entire 2025 would have been different me thinks....The 3 crucial factors are... Harry, Weiters and Walsh have an injury free year and return to top form.
The combination of balanced new recruits, natural progression of the young talent and Newy, Kemp and Jagga returning will result in a better 2026 than this year.
I agree with most of what you said. We will be more unpredictable to our opponents for a change.I think we have MUCH to look forward to - if we had more wise heads R1 2025 (think Ainsworth, Florent, Hayward...) we would not have capitulated... and the entire 2025 would have been different me thinks....
(though few of us knew Chuck had or was checking out at that point in time...)
But Crippa will bounce - hard - Cerra due to deliver consistently. Ditto Walshy and our midfield with roles from Jagga etc looks a lot, lot more dynamic....
Chesser for me the one that will surprise - express speed (genuine express speed) and a lot of ticker.
Up forward, with Big H as the centrepin, we will be a lot less predictable...
Like others, would like to see Guv play forward - he's still a talent, at times a very good player. Exceptional aerially and a reliable set shot....not sure why people think Kemp will take a long time to get back in 2026...... he did his injury in April...12 months with the level of rehab he has exposure too....
He is certainly not the 'wrong' player for Carlton, but he also isnt the answer to all our problems.. He is a top class player and if he wants to come to your club, you are duty bound to explore it.. Plenty of big ifs but for me I would only entertain it if it comes as a free agent and the salary is manageable.. If you are Sam Walsh and about to sign a long term deal, I dont think it would be good for culture to be offering significantly more for Butters, who atm has slightly more runs on the board but probably less upside. No rumour … just a fact.

Nah... if he leaves Port it will be to one of the big Melb clubs, he would have grown up wanting to play in front of 90k at the MCG... not 30k at Marvel... It would not surprise me if the Bombers make a Judd like pitch to him as the saviour of the club, just like Judd was to us at the time, they would be paying no one else so would have huge salary cap room.Agree.

You listen to C Cornes and sounds like he is still a massive Dogs nuffie. He will be planning to play in front of 90k crowds at the mcg in September anywayNah... if he leaves Port it will be to one of the big Melb clubs, he would have grown up wanting to play in front of 90k at the MCG... not 30k at Marvel... I think a lot will be determined by where Port finish in the ladder, if they finish bottom 4 (which is where I have them) a top 5 pick in a draft where they need points for Cochrane might be a better outcome for Port than a few future firsts, which is all we will have if Zac selects us..He won’t be gettable as a FA and his contract will be monstrous.
Just a few of the reasons why he certainly is the wrong play for Carlton.
Just accept it and move on …

If and it’s a huge if, he picks us then Port need to get the best deal knowing it won’t involve us using what is required for Cody.
That is not how it works in reality, take Sam Walsh as an example if he decides he wants to go to Geelong, of course we will be able to match but we wont because the free agent compo is going to be better outcome for us than any trade we might negotiate out of Geelong. He can nominate whoever he likes
All Port need to do is match and he stays or goes into the draft.
We wouldn’t be paying what Port would demand in trade or what Butters would demand in salary.
Time to put this one to bed …
