Crappa, Cripps' less skilled brother?Notice anyone rotating in the guts besides Crappa and Hewett? Lord?
He's a good "young" man. Reality is, he'll definitely be needed this season to cover in KPP spots. His weakness is in his head, it's all confidence for him. New coaches, new team-mates, perhaps SOS and Charlie moving on, getting engaged might be the panacea that helps him.Lewis Young is 1 who has had a very good pre season thus far.

Apart from stoppages, the game is largely,Recruiting players with poor foot skills has been our biggest issue for quite a while.
During Hawthorn’s golden era it was evident how much emphasis they placed on kicking skills and specific role players to compliment what they already had.
Hopefully we have turned the corner as an organisation in terms of being up to date with current trends or what skills today’s game requires balanced with a more realistic view of our list & wage profile.
"I wouldn't, and I'm betting on mobility the circumvent the need of a relief kick, but that's on the smaller defenders and midfield as much as any forwards." Why bet on the mobility of a short person when you could bet on the mobility of a tall person? And no matter how mobile either one is there is always going to be the need for a relieving kick, it is incrediby optimistic to think otherwise.I wouldn't, and I'm betting on mobility the circumvent the need of a relief kick, but that's on the smaller defenders and midfield as much as any forwards.
By thinking they won't gobble up a poorly placed flat kick without appropriate mobility, or a high ball without forwards of genuine height.
Metres gained are reflective of direct play without regards to turnover, but in this case the gap was largely due to gamestyle, where Cameron kicked more than twice as often as Harry.
Even discounting Harry's ruck minutes, that points to the dysfunction of the forward line and the ball movement up the ground, both by Harry and others.
Rebounds were 0.5 per game versus 0.3.
Stats notably go the other way in terms of defensive half pressure acts and contested marks, where Harry dominates.
Unless he was operating out of the square, Cameron went where he wanted and the ball was sent there.
Geelong are afforded the luxury of Cameron playing a low pressure no structure game where he roams and creates overlaps and marks in random spots because they have a literal fleet of small forwards ALL better than our best. Stengle Miers and co are what's required to allow Mckay to roam. And deadly opposite side wingers who can take a mark. Something acres hasn't done in a while and the other wing has just never offered.... Unlike Dempsey etc"I wouldn't, and I'm betting on mobility the circumvent the need of a relief kick, but that's on the smaller defenders and midfield as much as any forwards." "By thinking they won't gobble up a poorly placed flat kick without appropriate mobility, or a high ball without forwards of genuine height." Firstly - why don't we just kick the ball to our forwards advantage. Secondly those poor kicks could lead to turnovers regardless of whether McKay is high or deep (ie a high ball to Kemp in the midfield or a poorly placed flat kick to Harry in the forward 50)
"Cameron went where he wanted and the ball was sent there." Exactly - a bit like an old fashioned CHF like I want Harry to play

First - I am not asking McKay to be exactly like Cameron, second I am not expecting McKay to play a low pressure game, third and most importantly we are bringing in the lies of Florent, Chesser, Ainsorth, Hayward & Smith (plus possibly E Hollands & Cottrell) this year (plus Walker next year) in order us to have the hard running players that should allow us to play a much more Geelong style gameGeelong are afforded the luxury of Cameron playing a low pressure no structure game where he roams and creates overlaps and marks in random spots because they have a literal fleet of small forwards ALL better than our best. The long bomb style doesn't work - we should be moving away from the long bomb style towards a style. Its also game plan. Our bomb it long style requires a big strong tall forward to contest.
“Long bomb” isn’t the style of game we play. We play a territory style of game, as opposed to a ball movement style. It involves bombing it forward, but it’s done to take territory, rather than because it’s our mantraThe long bomb style doesn't work - we should be moving away from the long bomb style towards a style.
If we move away from the long bomb style we no longer need a 200cm plus forward anchored to the square but can become more mobile and unpredictable
I still remember his debut with the Dogs, saying to the couch cushions (my wife gave up listening to my astute and witty Carlton observations) give or take 15 years ago) That why does every other club find these kids that are just guns from day 1!I look like a professional golfer at the range. Footage of the boys doing weights today, there are two clips of jagga working hard but jeez it looked awkward. Drop the weight and get better form/results? Maybe they just caught him at the end of sets![]()
. Its hard to believe given the boys are bring guided by well paid trainers. Now we are experts in weights trainingForm looked aweful all round. Its hard to believe given the boys are bring guided by well paid trainers.

He had some brilliant games covering for KPP the last couple years. I’d argue he even won us games kicking 1-2 goals when needed. I do remember a game v Collingwood when he marked on 50 and made a poor choice when we were leading late in the fourth. He should have gone back and taken his 30 seconds and gone for goal. He deserved the chance that game. He instead went for a short pass and Collingwood ran the length of the field. He's a good "young" man. Not to mention is was all upper body. Footy is like 70-80% legs. Not an expert but I've been training for years and worked in the fitness industry.
You dont need a masters in sport science to see alot of our guys form is pretty average. Anyone who has spent more then 5 minutes in the gym would notice.
Not shocking by average gym standards. Just surprising for profesional athletes guided by trainers.
Not just us either. Seen several clubs release those videos of players attempting a 1 rep squat/bench max with massive weight and attrocious form. Good way to blow a knee or shoulder. Its very odd![]()
