Craig mate, I don’t think anyone doubted our cap space

We just have no trade currency bro

If I was a betting man, I’d place my money on us getting neither of Butters or King at the end of this year

no trade currency with cap space is exactly why free agents would be the target. bro.

Yep, King might be a realistic target but Butters will go to cats or dogs. At least we all hear that we have put some work into King over time, the same applies to Rowell who will be hard to dislodge from the Suns.

It will be essendon or dogs I reckon

Is 9 the highest pick you can get now?
I believe that the first 8 picks are protected. About time if you ask me.

Should go further in that a club finishing top 6 after finals can’t get a FA unless they lose one.

And we do away with compensation altogether to stop rorting like West Coast and Allen deal, way back the Dees with getting #3 for Frawley that Leight Matthews said was not even the to0p 100 in the league etc. It's up to clubs to keep their players happy. The AFL already helps weaker clubs out by giving them a lot more money than clubs like us.

I'd even say, no compo after a player has given you 8 years service and wants to leave.

If that happened then the free agents wouldn't really be free, they'd be limited as to who they could go to.

It's funny because it was originally introduced to help lower clubs but it seems that the successful clubs get them all

Mainly because FA's want to go to successful clubs where they have a chance of winning a flag. At least I assume that to be a big reason.

I’m ok with that. Players seem to have the upper hand when under contract. It will help with equalisation and restore some type of balance.

The AFL has to be careful with the rules as it is always open to restraint of trade actions if he does not give players enough leeway to change clubs.
Players can still be traded. Trades fall through, pre season draft….
Restraint of trade is an interesting concept in the afl.
Nick Stevens don’t make it to Collingwood (thankfully), neither did Judd.

He seems to love the big stage and big occasion. He'll get that in spades at Collingwood. I can't see a show boater like Zak going to the Dogs.
