Doctor: get me the quadriceps!
Nurse: you mean the fo(u)rceps?
Doctor: I meant what I said!

Ps - Congrats to the Weiterses. Proud father of two (gorgeous, crazy, sassy) girls here.

Are they taller than you yet?

(I have one taller and the other is only 9)

Older one is approaching my 'height', but might not have much growing left.

Younger one might end up my height or slightly taller. Fingers crossed.

“Fingers crossed” meaning, you hope so or you’re hoping not?
I can’t quite read your tone to being surpassed by your kids… 😜

If the afl do us dirty on this there will be riots.

The AFL needs to grow up and make itself a rule.

Any changes to the AFL rules need to be finalised before the start of the season.

No team should be waiting until July to find out how the draft or free agency or whatever is going to work this year.

This is amateur shit and embarassing for an allegedly professional sport

Any changes should be announced at a minimum before the trade period a full year before the changes are brought in.

It is utterly absurd that rules for this years draft could possibly be changed now.

Clickbait. We'll be right. The AFL have ruled out the nonsencial notion of a top 5 lockout.
Wright knew what he was doing trading Charlie thus ensuring we'll have the capital for Dean AND Walker - as Vossy says about our CEO; "he has a laser focus on future-proofing the footy club"
That Curnow trade was a BIG part of that focus with Cody squarely in mind.

The original plan was to have it resolved before the trade period last year, according to Greg Swann.

To be sitting here in Feb with Clubs still in the dark as to what changes the AFL will introduce to the Academy and father-son bidding process, this year - is an absolute joke. This is bush league amateur hour stuff from the AFL.

The AFL is the most unprofessionally run business in this universe.
How any professional, well managed organisation can make changes to rules that impact business units execution and planning which is completed over 2 to 3 years in incomprehensible.
There is a court case waiting to happen and it’s just a matter of time.

Most AFL clubs give off “Let an outspoken club like Collingwood, Geelong or Brisbane make the first statement criticising the AFL, and we will follow suit…” vibes.

Unfortunately, our club falls into that category and we have the most to lose.

Where are those fearless footy crusaders like Caro Wilson, Gerard Whately, Cornes on this issue - are they speaking out or are they afraid to criticise the AFL?

I doubt any of them particularly care, unless it is Collingwood or Brisbane at risk of missing out on a FS. It’s Carlton, so it’s radio silence.

Clickbaity article headline, followed by nothing…

Riley Beveridge knows what he’s doing.

Cody Walker will be a Carlton player in the draft.
Clubs still don't know the bidding rules... not click bait this time. Ridiculous this isnt planned 3+ years in advance.

Great time in life to have a gap year, no school, no commitments. There are plenty of high performance and education institutes around the world to pursue some personal and professional development this year. WHat are the AFL going to say? Cody can't use this time to better himself? If the AFL don't know their own rules yet because thats whats in their best interest, Cody and Carlton should absolutley be doing what's in their best interest. Don't be in the limelight, let others show their talents and elevate themselves. Maybe pick 1-3 drops to pick 4-5. Take any discount you can get, because there's three other lists that have absolutely reamed the old rules and will reap those benefits for another decade!

**** the AFL and their bullshit ineptitude. We got enough of that at Carlton for the last 30 years without their help. AFL want to play stupid games, dress it up as an amazing opportunity for Cody, what was the school Hird went to in France as punishment? Cody has always yearned for baguettes and berets...
