Games where arsenal really would have struggled otherwise..
He's scored in a 5-0, 4-1, 4-0, 2x 3-0 and 1 x 1-0. The 1-0 was a penalty against Everton.

In the 5-0 he scored the 3rd and 5th goals. 4-1 he scored the 2nd and 4th, 4-0 he scored the 3rd, in the 3-0s he scored the 2nd twice and 3rd one. He does tend to be a bit of a downhill skiier when it comes to his goals. Whether this is the team playing with more freedom once dominating or him, it's hard to tell. He's a decent player, but at his price tag? No.

I think we got lucky with the Gabriel call, to me it wasn't a foul and I would be filthy if that was given against us if the roles were reversed.

He needs to find consistency now. I don't really care who he scores against if those goals are getting us three points.

He still has 14 goals in the league though.

No it hasn't. He's been a meme for every supporter base. The media have scrutinised him to no end.

I am a big fan of Ekitike.
Write the media a letter then. I don't follow the junk, rage baiting media pieces, fan videos and social media pages. All I see on here and in person regarding Gyokeres is Arsenal supporter lead criticism and meltdowns - which are thankfully now subsiding.

Seen the auto-generated replay suggested a Forest players toe kept Van Dijk onside, I'm not sure.

And would like to see if Ekiteke was interfering as well.

This should help, the onside is pretty obvious. Ekitike is not involved in the play.

I know but your arrow was off
No it wasn't, it's pointing at a foot not a hand. The foot is extended behind vvd but it's a trick of the photo that makes it look like a hand. That's why he's also pointing at the head so you can view it easier.

People banging on about his price tag as if we spent 100m+ on him.

65m is not an astronomical fee in modern football.

He doesn't even make the top 10 for transfer fees in the 2025 summer window, and he's proven to be much better value than a few of the names on this list.

Let's not forget that Leipzig were demanding 90m for Sesko which Arsenal rightly walked away from. They only dropped their asking price when it was clear we'd gone for Gyökeres instead.

I know that Ola Aina is there, you can't see his foot at all so the arrow is redundant on that blurry image.

Thats a very brown arm for a white player. Weird white boot shaped object at the end of it too.

I don't call scoring consolation goals "good value". Also yeah, he's 14th on that list... but Igor Thiago cost 33 million the year before last, DCL was free. Kroupi is 2 goals behind and cost 13 million. He is not value for money.

The arm you are seeing belongs to Murillo. This guy.

There's also no white boot at the end of his arm. Under his arm there is a white boot that belongs to VVD. Ola Aina was wearing Fluoro yellow boots.

Zidane literally posted the photo above..

Just had a quick glance at Brentford's results and I see an awful lot of consolation goals for Igor Thiago, 7 penalties as well.

A goal is a goal last I checked.

Yeah and that doesn't show a yellow boot. It shows a white boot, hardly surprising if it was a toenail in it that you can't see Aina's boot.

I mean why would you lie.

6 penalties. In losing efforts he has scored Thrice. Once was the tying goal, once was the opening goal.

In winning efforts he has 14 goals, opening the scoring 5 times, twice scoring the game winning goal. That's not including other goals that have either tied the match. There are not many consolation goals in that lot, maybe 2?

Dunno why football fans can't accept criticism of their players. Gyokeres has been mediocre for his price and scores a lot of consolation goals. That is fact that can't be wiped away by some tears.

Gyokeres has 1 goal against top 11 sides. Not sure it's worth bragging about him just yet.
Other hand arsenal definitely don't maximise opportunities for their striker, the goals against Tottenham were good though, might be starting to turn a bit of a corner confidence wise

Tbf, Gyokeres goals have proven to be important since they are top of the table. If Arsenal win the title on goal difference and he doesn’t score for the rest of the season, his goal against Everton in a 1-0 win can be viewed as the goal that won Arsenal the title.

I don't agree with this narrative. I don't think any reasonable fan would say he's the difference maker for Arsenal being first. They've been first in other seasons with Jesus and Havertz, Nketiah for back up.

If they got Dominic Calvert Lewin for free there's every chance he'd have roughly the same amount of goals with the type that Gyokeres has scored.

Not sure a blurry still picture ever helps.

He’s the top scorer in the PL this season. So by definition, he literally has been the difference maker. If Arsenal do win the league, I doubt their supporters will care how many goals he scored.

Has he been worth the transfer fee? No. But has his goals proven to be important? Yes.

And there’s every chance that we will never find out.

Hes their top scorer right?

Jesus in 22/23 scored 11 PL goals at 0.42 a game
Havertz scored 13 in 23/24 at 0.35 a game
And 9 in 23 at 0.39 last season

Gyokeres has 10 in 26 this season at 0.38

Really hasn't made and noticable difference that Havertz and Jesus haven't previously done. This it's a bit of a reach to say he's made any sort of difference that a fit Havertz wouldn't have made.

He's basically come in and been bang average for an arsenal striker in the last 4-5 seasons.
