Yeah there’s definitely a lot more under the hood to the game-winning drive stat.

Anyway, playoff football again. So, so pumped. The city and stadium will be absolutely buzzing today. Let’s shock the world. Hope Canales takes the training wheels off early. Can’t play conservative, nothing to lose. If we go down, let’s go down swinging.

Credit where it’s due. Thought Bryce played very well today. Coaching allowed him too as well.

My ****ing god though why are we playing prevent defense at the end there. If they beat us over the top so be it. Infuriating.

What an up & down season. Clear improvement though. Will get a tougher schedule next year.

A lot of work to do in the off-season, but a good season to build off I think.

There were some brain melting errors by the defense getting beaten over the top twice today by TEs. That final drive highlights why we need a legit pass rusher so bad. We can't apply any pressure without a blitz.

Coker finally getting fed like he should, such a good player.

Bryce played maybe his best game. Just such a shame he went out with a whimper on that final drive, he deserved the victory.

Panthers drafting a QB on the cards according to Dan Morgan. Assume it will be in a later rounds and a Nussmeier or Allar type who was ranked highly before the start of this season and fell

Spotrac has Cade Mays going for ~12m contract in free agency...he has played well two years in a row now but sheesh, not sure we can afford anything near that given what we are already paying the rest of the OL. Think it's time to draft a center.

Welcome back.
Don’t forget who is to blame. 🤣
I said to you and Jatz in the uniforms thread I really appreciate you guys helping me out, thanks mate.

Yep, hard not to love what we’ve done thus far on paper. Very happy with Phillips, Lloyd & Taylor.

Put ourselves in a flexible position in the draft now. Really hoping we don’t go Sadiq @ 19.

I dont think Sadiq will get to us, but why dont you like him?

Just think there are bigger needs elsewhere. I know he’s an athletic freak, but more often than not that type hasn’t panned out in the past. Production was ehhh. Just personal preference.

Would much prefer Thieneman (doubt he gets there), Banks, McCoy, Tyson, Howell…

I understand what youre saying, bit like OJ Howard. I do think in the right system he could be awesome, but big questions over whether that is us.

Appears we will take a QB on day 3 as reported a few months ago:

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia is visiting with the Panthers.
Pavia, the fiery 2025 SEC Offensive Player of the Year who threw for 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions in his final collegiate season, shapes up as a Day Two or Three selection in the 2026 draft. Completing 70.5 percent of his passes at a high 9.94 adjusted yards per attempt, Pavia is among the most productive quarterbacks in this draft class and could slot in as a backup behind Bryce Young, who, like Pavia, is short in stature. “I feel like a lot of teams love the tenacity, the fight,” Pavia said at the 2026 NFL Combine. “The life of an underdog, that’s for sure. And, so, they ask questions. But you go back, you look at my record, ain’t nothing on my record. I just want everyone to know what’s true about me is I’m humble and I get my confidence from my process.”

Also..

The Carolina Panthers are continuing to evaluate the most important position in the game.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the team has set up a visit for Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King.

A Longview, Texas native, King spent his first three collegiate campaigns at Texas A&M University. He'd appear in 10 games for the Aggies—amassing 1,579 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions between 2020 and 2022.

King went on to lead the ACC in passing touchdowns (27) in his first season at Georgia Tech. Over his three years there (2023 to 2025), the dual-threat quarterback totaled 7,907 yards and 55 touchdowns through the air while running for 2,277 yards and 36 scores.

Headlined by his conference-leading 15 rushing touchdowns, King was named the 2025 ACC Player of the Year and the ACC Offensive Player of the Year.

See we have been doing a lot of WR interview/visits. Zero faith in Legette turning it around obviously.

Cooper, Concepcion and now Boston. Not really a fan of Boston coz he feels too much like what we already have, but Cooper and Concepcion make a lot of sense being shifty route runners.

Interestingly, if we took a WR in the first round we'd be the first team in league history to select a WR in the first round 3 years in a row.

Alright, one week out.

Thoughts?

I doubt they’ll get to us, but I’d love Lemon, Tyson, Thieneman or McCoy.

Concepcion, Cooper, McDonald, Woods, McNeil-Warren or Fano I’d be completely on board with also.
