Why the heck would 7 play this game live, and put the Freo game on delay?

And why is this game on so early? I guess it starts the day for the east coast, but who that’s not a fan of either team is going to watch this? Pretty small audience over east surely

AFL have said the eagles are getting a lot of interstate Sunday games because they're shit, and the eagles asked for all those games to be early starters so they can get home by Sunday evening. I have no idea if that's true or just AFL spin

Haven't seen much of Brodie so far outside of that one kick on the wing. They limiting his time on ground?

Just watching the replay. You can tell Freo are put off (first half) by the weather's affect. Skiddy surface, greasy ball, couldn't get their game going early and the Tiges to be fair held their ground, had some handy guys like Lalor using their size and whatnot.

But the one I want to mention is Steely Green. Didn't know until now he was drafted out of WA (South Fremantle). Don't recall his name on the board during draft discussions, but there's times I'm not here or off doing "non-football" stuff. Decent small forward popping up in this game with goals. Not that it's huge raps on them, but he's their leading goalkicker with 5. I'm sure Richmond will want to tie him down though and offer him a nice contract as one of their young, emerging players. Only 22, out of contract at the year's end. Maybe one to watch out for, could want to come home at some point, Switta looks like he's on his last legs and he's never been much of a goalkicker and Scerri's probably a similar replacement for Sam.

Darcy Moore missing a month won't hurt our chances of kicking a winning score under the gather round lights
It was very strange Collingwood leaving him out there when he was clearly not right. Wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up missing more than a month due to extra damage.

Joe Berry is really showing signs of being the player we were all excited about at the draft
Yeah I was keen on him, proves the you can't get everyone aspect, but gee our consolation prize has started his career ok.

Duursma looks like he's been playing for 5 years. He's going to be seriously good unfortunately
On the law of averages, one of them was bound to be good eventually.

If you think about it , eagles get neale end of this year , the chad the next and another high draft pick or 2 this year - ideally drafting a good kpd they could realistically be challenging for a finals spot a lot sooner than everyone thought.

So are the eagles decent now? Or are port just really shit?

Port are pretty woeful, especially without Rozee and Bergman but West Coast have definitely improved.

Outside the first quarter last week they look much sharper.

*exluding Rd1, given they copped the same shafting as us facing an OR team away
