We've had 1 game out of our last 8 where we've score 50+ I50s.

In Rounds 1 to 20 last year we were #2 for I50s.
Between Rounds 22 to now, we are #14.

Coaches got scared of winning.

That is damning.

We have played all sorts of teams - his game plan is shit.

Just like we haven’t had a good midfield since the early 2000’s

McAndrews was up against one of the best ruck duo in the competition and held his own with an anchor around his ankle in RoB.

You can't tell me that we wouldn't have been better off with Maley and Thilthorpe chopping out McAndrew, and had an extra runner instead of O'Brien.

Selecting O'Brien was reacting to their line-up, not having confidence in our own.

Bring back htb for ruckmen cos that was a joke.

McAndrew was fine, not helped by the umpires refusal to ping Jackson for grabbing the ball in the ruck and just dropping it or shoving McAndrew in the back time and time again.

Grabbing the ball out of the ruck hasn't been prior-opportunity since the ruck nomination rule. It was an "emergency patch" shortly after the rules introduction. The moment you re-introduce it you will have matches where the majority of ruck contests are uncontested. Unless the ruck nomination rule disappears.

As boomers consider being forced to count past 2 to be an onerous obligation, that isn't happening.

Good:

If we played more than 12 minutes of good footy for a game we would be amazing.

At the end of the day we have played some pretty good teams and have been in front during the last quarter of all of them. Its a bit of luck and a lot more intent earlier in the game. Its not all doom and gloom, we are struggling for some form and fitness but if we had played some middling teams it would look a lot better. We have played worse and been 3-1.

We are doing okay, just very frustrating and annoying. Being in good form at the end of the year is more important than now.

As much as I like the positivity some people are taking with the glass-half-full attitude with these close losses, what happens in future can go either way.

We're either going to start winning, or those close losses will start to become floggings.

Last night was on the verge of becoming the latter. When Freo was bordering six goals up early in the third, it should have been closer to ten. From recollection they missed about three easy shots already that quarter, after a handful the first half. Our better accuracy was the only thing barely giving us a pulse for over half a game, until we came out of the coma.

It's great we the played hard and almost pulled off the win (again), but there are worrying signs. Plus that Collingwood win all of a sudden isn't looking as groundbreaking as it did at the time.

Treacy gave Borlase a big wrap on the radio saying he is one of the physically toughest player he has been up against for a while. I mean Treacy kicked 2 goals 2 but 1 of those was out of his ass and he did keep Treacy to 5 marks so id say that was a big win for you yesterday

Berry was going crook at Rankine? I can understand why. Rankine is way below his usual standard.
Borlase did well to limit Treacy.

with Borlase you get exactly what it says on the tin...no frills but consistent and can do a job. The derision of him by some on our board is very unwarranted imo

1 of those goals was not on Borlase either.
For some strange reason people shit on him, yet I can’t remember him letting us down at all when he comes in and usually it’s not for any games in a row, so he gets no continuity.

Im very confident Eagles chase a FB in the off season if Harry Edwards has to pack it up. Id say Borlase will be on our list to pick up. We dont really need or want a FB to do anything but kill the contest. We have enough guys wanting to run and go 3rd up. We need a no bread, no water, just meat at FB killing the ball
