Pavia didn't believe he needed an agent thought he could do a better job 🤡
Saved an agent a whole lot of time and hassle trying to rehab his image to a respectable human. which would of been one hell of a task

I think it was more with his ego saying he could do a better job than an agent and an agent isn't worth the % you pay him.

How bad was my 49ers draft

We're a hard team to predict when it comes to our approach to drafts. From the outside it looks more like scheme fit and character have been the focus on how we rate prospects.

We don't draft on consensus and our internal perspective of need and where they want to use draft capital is very different to the outside perspective.

We'll know more in a few months/years how good / bad we went.

Given his future NFL contract prospects he needs to hang onto every cent he can. He owes Lids a few hundred bucks alone.

Other than Bosa name one successful 1st round pick in Kyle/Lynch era you can't and this is their 10th draft together.
If not for late round drafting of Warner, Kittle and Purdy we would be talking about their draft the way we do about the Browns.

For sure the late round selections have worked out and filled out our roster. The problem is roster construction and ongoing management of the salary cap muddy up the waters.

Plus after the Trey Lance trade debacle we've had fewer round 1 picks.

Looking at talent alone and where players have contributed to the team and gone on to get a good contract (with us or elsewhere) I'd include:
  • Brandon Aiyuk. Performed well and got a big contract and then every went off the rails after injury. Not a drafting issue a management issue.
  • Mike Mcglinchey. Not everyone's cup of was tea at RT, but performed well enough to sign a big deal at denver and a contract we couldn't consider matching as we had no cap room and we're paying big Trent mega bucks.
I'd expect Pearsall to get another contract and fall into this category, but still too early to tell and Williams it's only one season so far.

Thomas, Foster, Kinlaw and Lance for their draft slots haven't delivered.

The spin is in....if it were true McVay would've been effin ecstatic when it happened

People (not me) are saying it was an act so as not to upset Stafford. If he's that good an actor, forget moving into the booth.... Hollywood awaits post coaching career

Or it could be, all the rumors around Russini, allegedly not only Vrabel but McVay and Sirianni too. Perhaps distraught with worry over that. But regardless, if they secretly coveted Simpson and pulled it off, he'd be ecstatic in the presses and talking to him on the phone(the phone call he'd be professional enough to not let any off-field emotion effect that phone call.

Plus, initially, AFTER a day or two of the draft , the first word was Simpson never even talked or met McVay. Then a couple more days later, suddenly it was all a ruse and they'd met secretly. There'd be no reason to initially keep up the ruse that they hadn't met AFTER drafting him.

So it's obviously a spin.

That is what the Rams are feeding to the media. But I don't think anybody is buying it.

Draft grades are idiotic. Most places gave Seattle a D or F for their 2012 draft when they took Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, and Russell Wilson. That is one nailed on HOFer (Wagner), another potential one depending on your POV (Wilson), and a very good starting LB. Then you add in Jeremy Lane, JR Sweezy, and Robert Turbin and it was a superb draft haul and easily an A grade.

😂

They've even listed this year's draft class. It's less than a week old and no hits.

There might be some busts, but Puni was a round 6 pick and has been a day one starter at Guard. West and Collins played a stack from last year's class.

Plenty of serviceable pieces in that list.

That's what people don't seem to get, the 49ers may not hit on perennial pro bowlers or all pros, but their system is good enough to extract value out of them and propel them repeatedly into the playoffs.

Anyone else feel that he is going to be forced to switch to slot receiver or RB within 2 years?
He wont even be in the league in 2 years
