I read that in yesterday's age and from what I've heard today, that appears the case, and that is good news, as the last few years I'm sick of the Blues every year playing 5/6 games interstate whereas the other big Vic clubs, Collingwood and Essendon get cushy friendly fixtures.

Also in more good news
But Richmond received some consolation in that the AFL has agreed to schedule its centenary clash at the MCG against Carlton as a night game at the end of June during the second split round.

I would have thought that is even more good news, in that we get to play the wooden spooners (and our traditional whipping boys) Richmond twice, in rnd 1 and in the split round, that is another guarenteed 2 wins in the bag already :)

Still with that draw now (and we get Essendon x 2, which means another 2 wins in the bag) I think finals have to be a strong possiblity next year, assuming we get a good run with injuries.

I think we have to set our sights on the finals, I think a 6 - 8 position is most certainly attainable esp when you consider that the likes of Adelaide, Sydney and probably the Kangaroos are likely to fall out of the 8, so that opens up 3 new spots in the finals next year

Your dreaming all ready for next year

You carlton supporters think you just sundenly going to become an awesome and dominating team just with Judd who has a massive injury cloud over him.

Carlton should be getting a hard draw because of where they have previously finished and teams who have actually gone half decent be rewarded

You obviously can't get over that 5 point prelim loss.:p What a great night that was.:p 2 great things happened in a few weeks, Collingwood fell short of a flag by 5 points and Judd picked Carlton over Collingwood.

I can't wait until next year when we kick your arse.

go and suck eddie's coc*!!!!!

well id rather lose by 5 in a prelim and be able to hold my head high rather then getting flogged in the granny or not making the finals at all :)

NO WAY!!!!!

I would rather miss the finals. Losing a Prelim by 5 points hurts a lot more, especially when Geelong went on to beat port by 20 goals. Be honest for a second, that 5 popint loss will hurt for a long time. Tell me that when Geelong smashed Port, you weren't thinking that this could have been the Pies doing the same thing?

Losing close finals is absolute BS!

Actualy we thought we were going to be playing finals next year based on the improvement of our young guns, the return of Stevens and Cloke from injury and the addition of Kruezer.

The inclusion of Judd and Hadley are just bonuses! :D

That's a bit rich coming from a supporter whose club has had the easiest and most coziest draw in the AFL for the last 10 or so years ...
Fact is Collingwood finished 6th last year at the end of the home and away season (and only made the eight by one game/win) and you have to assume if they had a harder draw, IE 6 interstate games and more games at the dome, they wouldn't have made the finals ..

For once (as appears likely) the Pies get an harder draw with more interstate trips should give us a more accurate reflection of just how good Collingwood is.
Where is huge cloud over Judd, once he has that operation, he should be fine, no probs whatsoever.

if you include the finals we had 5 interstate games this year winning 4 of them and loosing the other by 2 goals, good teams will win when they play interstate

Then if anything you should want more interstate games and resent the teams that get them instead of you, not the teams that have less interstate games than you!

It's about time we got a decent draw. You get the feeling everyone knows our young side is destined for great things, and I think the AFL knows they need Carlton to dominate the competition again. The FTA TV coverge WILL be interesting. Despite are lowly finish, I think we'll end up with a lot more games on FTA in 2008, because of the growing expectation about Carlton. This really is the beginning of a great success-era for the Carlton Football Club. :)

Keep in mind champ that there were quite a few games where we were well within striking distance at 3/4 time, only to be run over the top of in the last quarter by a more experienced team. You put Stevens and Judd into that side, and some of those losses might actaully turn into wins.

I don't think 10 wins in 2008 is out of the question.

Is it just me or are you guys starting to think premiers 2008 is more of a certainty than a possibility? :D

Looks like you barrack for the right club then.
